Sakura was such a lovely person to be around and she worked very hard. I really enjoyed the cultural exchange with her as she cooked some of the best meals of my life. She became a close friend of ours and we highly recommend her.

Having Sinead and her incredible energy was a super experience for me. We also had a young French/English couple at the same time. We all bonded over walks, hikes, swimming and especially at the dinner table. Saying goodbye to Sinead left us all feeling lonely but we continued and had many laughs about our time together. I know she’ll be back and I fully intend to join her in Colorado Miss you loads B

Oh how I love the Unicorn 🌟 This was my first Workaway experience, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better place to find. From day one, Jonathon and Karla welcomed me and treated me like I had been a part of their family this whole time. The entire staff working at Unicorn is incredible, they're so kind and always helpful in whatever ways needed. You can tell that Jonathon has a huge heart, he is always trying to improve everything for everyone, if ever an issue comes up, he is quick with the resolution and it is completed as soon as possible. The community that has been created in their partnership with KEFI Collective is continuously growing, and it is so inspiring to be a part of. Unicorn Reborn itself is a little slice of heaven in the center of San Marcos, with direct access to the Lakeshore and the most beautiful garden right outside the door of my room. The serenity and peace on the property is hard to beat, I was honestly surprised at how quiet it was living there, being so close to so much of what San Marcos has to offer. I wasn't sure how I would feel in a communal living situation, but the Unicorn tends to attract really great guests, most of whom are grounded and down to earth. A mix of people staying for a couple weeks, which was fun to get to make new connections, or a number of people who stay for just a couple nights. With seven cabins in total on-site, it wasn't overwhelming at all times. Unlike most Workaways that I've seen listed, this one is special in that you have your own private accommodation, and there is a staff that takes care of all the cleaning daily. Main points to this job are keeping communication with the guests before arrival, showing them around the property on check-in, handling the payments, and making sure everyone is happy throughout their stay. I can't even put into words how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to stay with the whole crew at Unicorn, and I can't wait to return!!! I'm so glad to be a part of the Unicorn FAM, and to know that I will always have a home there. Thank you guys so much for everything 💝

I stayed for nearly two months with Petra and Adrian this spring. The highlight were obviously all the amazing animals, but moreover I had the opportunity to make so many new and special experiences! Everyday had a rather clear routine, resulting from the daily household to-dos and necessities of the animals, like cleaning and feeding them, spread out during the whole day. While in the time in between, everything could happen, from repainting a boat to visiting a neighbor for dog-physiotherapy. The tiny house is super cozy and a leg-warming cat is included ;) Petra and Adrian really let you partake in their lives and a fun time is guaranteed with them. Tack Petra, Adrian och ljuvlig djur!

Three Italian ladies, sweet as zucccero! I laughed at lot and learned some Italian. They move around the campo as a three-unity and you can hear their laughter from far. We shared biscotti's and good conversations. Even though they had little experience with horses, they were willing to do it all with enthusiasm and also success. Absolutely capable women. Benne, benne!!! wish to see you again signores :)

Katie and Jordan came to my home just before my annual Christmas Party to join us for the season. I was happy to offer them a Canadian family Christmas experience! They helped me greatly in my renovations of the Coach House… removing and bagging old drywall and other tasks in the cold of winter. Also put their muscles to work shovelling our first snowfalls! I introduced them to friends who were later able to have them come stay with them to help. They have been much appreciated here on PEI!

This was my first workaway, I enjoyed it a lot and highly recommand it! I had a lovely little cabin where I felt very much at home. Everyone was really friendly and the farm is beautiful. We were four worktraders, there was a kitchen where we cooked and ate. Our work (9 to 12 am and 1 to 3 pm) was well organised and varied. I' m very grateful for this enriching experience. Thank you!!!

My experience in Puyuelo has been amazing, since the day I started they made me feel like home and part of the community. I've learnt a lot from them, not only workingwise (of which I've got a lot more skills now) but also in relationships, communication and shearing emotions... The work was varied, we worked in the forest, building fences, made some clay walls, did some gardening, or even sometimes the task was just to walk down the path and collect some materials for construction... All the people and animals ther are lovley and the humans are very enthusiastic about their project, very honest and willing to listen to every suggestions or speak about feelings, I really appreciated that :) All the food is vegetarian and you have a whole kitchen and wood oven to be creative!! Having said that, I want to thank to all the people which has been part of my experience in Puyuelo, I'm sure that I'll be back!!

Daniela is a hard worker who doesn’t shy away from a challenge. She’s a nice, serious, resourceful and trusted person. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to get to know her very well as she had to leave after three days for family reasons.

What a great person Anne is. She's so smart and so calm, and our home was all the better to have her in it.

Nathan and Francesca are a fantastic couple, wonderful with the kids, kind to everyone and really hard-working on the property. They're a beautiful couple and welcome anytime.

Carina brought so much radiant energy and joy to the abbey! She threw herself into our daily rhythm, always happy to lend a hand with any task and eager to discover more about our lifestyle. To top it all off, her beautiful violin playing was an absolute gift to us all. It was truly a wonderful season hosting Carina!

Rosa’s presence at the abbey has been a true gift, bringing so much joy and attentiveness to everyone around her. She jumped right into our way of life with an open heart, directing that vibrant energy straight into the potager. Whether she was eagerly learning new gardening techniques or happily getting her hands dirty to help out wherever needed, her passion for the abbey's garden was beautiful to see. It was truly a wonderful season sharing this time with her.

Where to start: I had a wonderful time at Karens and Ullis place! The family is super welcoming and they live at a unique property. Working and living together was a great start to Australia and all the people on the farm were super nice and did inspire me big time! I would for sure come back and I can recommend anyone to stay with them!

My experience in this family was incredible !! It was my first workaway but I felt like home. Iona and Julien made sure that my stay was the best possible. The place is amazing ! The children are adorable. I really enjoyed to do lambing, and a lot of different job I did there. I went home with a lot of beautiful memory and I know I will come back to see them again.

I had a spectacular and wonderful experience, my hosts were fantastic to me and a great friendship was formed. The place is wonderful. I hope everyone has the opportunity to volunteer in this wonderful place someday. The food was wonderful, the accommodations were great, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to volunteer with you.

On a passé 3 superbes semaines avec Michelle! On a bien rigolé avec elle, elle est très cool, s'intègre très facilement. Elle est très autonome et a pleins de bonne initiative, c'est une vrai bonne aide! Elle est très intéressante, les enfants l'ont adorés! On espère vraiment la revoir un jour! milles merci Michelle

Vielen Dank Sabine für deine zahlreiche Hilfe in Haus und Garten und für die unkomplizierte Zusammenarbeit, für die tiefen Gespräche und das gemeinsame Beten. Sabine arbeitet sehr zuverlässig und ist tatsächlich sehr autonom sobald alle Fragen geklärt sind. Wir hatten eine schöne und zu kurze Zeit mit ihr - sehr gerne wieder !

It was a pleasure having Gina with us, she is an animal lover so our dogs enjoyed a lot spending the time with her. She was hardworking and discipline also spend her free time to walk with some of them to downtown or going for trekking to the mountain. Also was a great team member giving a postive vibe to everyone. She is algo good creating content so she made many pictures and videos for our social media. Thanks a lot!!!
