Description
30 acre farm in Whittlesea with sheep, chickens, horses and cattle.
We have a large greenhouse using wicking bed system to grow our own vegetables.
Owned by Lesley and Clive Denholm who are retired and building a farm that is very nearly self sufficient.
A bit about us, we have 3 adult children and 7 grandchildren. Been married for 46 years, loving farm life after lots of years running businesses.
The farm is exciting and a warm friendly environment. Private accommodation is new and clean. Quality bedding and good range of pillows.
We love fresh wholesome home grown food.
The farm backs onto a state forest and has regular visits from Kangaroos.
We will ensure you enjoy and value your time on the farm and very much appreciate any help with our projects.

Learn about life on a small farm including aquaponics, wicking beds, animal welfare and pasture management.

Current work needed on farm is mowing, weeding, fencing, and help with planting to create shelter belts for the animals. Would love help from workawayer with farm experience. Prefer couples as we can't always assist and prefer people to work in pairs for enjoyment and safety.

We have 2 tiny homes and self contained room with its own ensuite. All accommodation is new and clean.
Property is solar powered.
Food is provided along with access to farm kitchen and laundry

Property is located about 8km from Whittlesea where public transport is available.
We will gladly provide transport to Whittlesea township if needed. Also Wallan township is 15 km away and you can catch a train to Melbourne.
On arrival or departure we can do airport transfers.

There really is a little bit of everything at Clive and Lesley's hobby farm. If you are an animal lover, there's dogs, cows, sheep, horses, fish... wild animals like kangaroos, wombats, possums, parrots and other birds of all kinds. Awfully good that is :)
It was great having them stay with us, incredibly helpful around the property and great to spend time with over dinner.
Cap makes amazing crepes.
We highly recommend Max and Cap if you offer a workaway experience.
We actually miss not having them around and would welcome them back anytime.

Meghan was awesome. Funny, Hard Working, and just a really nice guest. Helped with installing reticulation, some fencing and garden maintenance. Plenty of chats over dinner with our family. Left the tinyhome clean. Would be happy to welcome her back.

We loved having Bea and Juan stay with us. We learnt a little Spanish cooking, had some nice dinners and finished off a few projects around the farm.

Niko and Melissa stayed with us around 3 weeks. It was a pleasure to work and socialise with them. Great sense of humour, hard working and skilful.
Niko fixed a number of issues with the machinery. Melissa assisted with feeding animals, painting and tidying up our shed.
They are welcome back anytime and I highly recommend them as workawayers.

Clive and Lesley were very nice hosts. They were very accommodating and the rltiny house was private and clean. The meals in the evening were also great every time. The work was varied and fun and there was always room to choose between different jobs. Overall this was an amazing workaway experience.
