We stayed one week in Amy’s house and the experience was really good. Amy is an incredible and busy woman and we really appreciate all the things that she did for us!
She lives in a really big propetry and that’s a lot of work to do everyday but the work that we did was confortable. We paint a little house, we watterblast the house, we did some
… read more weeding. All day were different jobs and that’s a really good thing!!!
She have a really smart daughter and he had with her a lots of interestings conversations! We reccomend a anybody to come and stay with them ‘cause there are a really nice family.

Staying with Amy, Oriyah, their dog Lavender and goat Ola was more like making new friends than doing a work exchange. It was a heart-warming welcome to New-Zealand and to the workaway experience.
The work mostly involved clearing the field of saplings and gorse while minding Ola and Lavender. We cleaned the kitchen daily, did the dishes after
… read more dinner, and emptied the eco-toilet buckets when needed. We also strung up some of Amy’s herbal harvests to dry, and made some herbal medicines with her one day.
Regarding meals, ingredients were left out for breakfast and lunch, and Amy made us lovely dinners to eat together in the evenings. Most ingredients were organic and/or local, and everything was yummy :)
We stayed in a little cabin in a tree-fern wood near the house – both are very cosy.
Amy was going to the beach most evenings for a swim and ended up showing us all the beautiful beaches in the area as she brought us along in her van. We also spent one of our days off with Amy, Oriyah and their friends at a beach, had a ‘potluck’ dinner, played Pictionary, and had lots of fun!
Amy is quite busy juggling all her jobs and Oriyah is at school in the daytime, so we had a lot of time to ourselves, but whatever time we spent with them was enjoyable and we felt very at home there.
Thank you so much Amy for an amazing first week in New Zealand!Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

We had an awesome stay with Amy, her intelligent teenage daughter Oriya, their loving collie Lavender, many chickens and chicks, a duck and the beloved rescued dwarf goat Ola. We stayed here for 8 nights despite our reservations when we first arrived. This was our first working away experience, plus Amy has a very unique lifestyle of all organic,
… read more natural and laid back/chaos which we weren't sure we would fit in well with. Day by day we wanted to stay longer as we got to know Amy and Oriya. Amy is VERY busy running her own herbalist company, plus being a mother, whilst maintaining her land and garden. We spent most of our days babysitting the goat with lavender taking her to the field to graze for at least 6hrs a day. Other jobs we occasionally did was weeding, gardening, feeding the trees, cleaning the house, emptying the woodchip toilet, cutting nettles. We only had 1 rest day and didn't get much time to ourselves but this wasn't a problem for us. We spent our first few nights in our van parked in the bush then moved into the cosy wooden hut in the bush once it became free and We had successfully sold our van. We loved retreating to the bush after dinner. Amy cooked us tasty dinners including wild salads, Dahl, stir fry and noodle soups. We only wish Amy had more time to get us more involved in her herbalist processes. Thank you for hosting us Amy we were sad to leave.Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.
