Description
We are a Spanish/English couple so both languages are used. (however, some knowledge of Spanish is needed). Although we are a couple, of many years, unfortunately there are times I cannot be at the house cortijo , therefore sometimes there is only Hipolito (Male) there. He sleeps in a flat below the main house. We are very easy going people and we live in a calm environment. We have cats but no dogs or children!
We live in the beautiful area above 'costa Tropical' in Andalucía. Although rural its easily connected by road to local towns and the coast. Only an hours drive to the cities of Granada and Malaga.
The 'Finca' produces mainly avocados but also mangoes, oranges, lemons, cherimoyas, pomegranates, guavas, grapes to name a few.
Sometimes we need house sitters. Free accommodation but buy your own food!

Spanish and English is spoken. We have a very good knowledge of the surrounding area including many picturesque walks.

Work is varied according to season and may include pruning, weeding and picking. Space to start a vegetable garden. Basic cooking is required and much appreciated!

The accommodation is in a large rural house. With plenty of space. Also room for car/caravan. Well equipped kitchen as we love to entertain. A big terrace with view, great for relaxing and star gazing.

A bus into town passes twice a day. Nearest village is in walking distance (20mins) Beautiful walks, and views. Close to the coast and the mountains.

Both boys are very tranquil. And respectful. They fitted in well with us and our other guests.
Unfortunately it was at a time when we didn't have much work. But when asked to do something they worked well.
As they are young lads they need to learn to get up a bit earlier!!!!!
They are always welcome to return . Keep learning Spanish !

The stay at hipolito was unforgettable!! We were welcomed like family. Louise and hipolito are adorable! Hipolito is always ready to take us to incredible places (mountain walks, wild beaches, dancing bars, etc.). ⛰️🎸

Unfortunately Philippe had an accident and was unable to do very much. But he was pleasant and helpful and tried his best to cook ,help when possible and mixed well with the other workaways'.

Despite the fact I made an ankle sprain ,I enjoyed my time with Hipolito and Louise .
It is important to note that both spanish and english are used at the Finca . Sometimes , I struggle to talk to Hipolito ,as my spanish is a bit basic , but he is always patient with us .

John is a very responsible and hard worker. He is a very calm person who fitted in with our way of life perfectly. He is sociable but a bit difficult for Hipólito to comunicate ( he doesn't speak English) which was a shame because he wanted to get to know him better.

Angelika fitted in to our happy home very well. She is helpful pleasant and hardworking. We had a lot of fun and her Spanish was really good. ( And her English) I really enjoyed sharing our love for plants and gardens.
