Description
We are a semi-retired couple from Germany having lived and worked abroad we have settled in rural Galicia.
Here we renovated and created a home, holiday lets and garden as well as some veggie patches.
We try to live as organic and sustainable as sensible and possible here in very rural Galicia. We grow some vegetables, have supported solar power, our own wells, etc.
Our latest project is renovating a ruin in our village.
Help revolves around tending the gardens and helping in the house, some renovation as well as ongoing maintenance.
The area offers stunning nature but it is mainly for people who look for a tranquil & relaxed place.
Although in the middle of the countryside we do have WiFi and other mod cons.
A minimum stay of two weeks - better a month - we found works best.
Just contact us for more info.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

If you are slightly extrovert and speak some Spanish we have very welcoming neighbors and you can experience life in a small rural community.
You will participate in the challenges to keep a flower garden during changing seasons and times. as well as growing plants.
The small "huerta" (veg garden) does need constant attention, as do the wines.
You are welcome to help or prepare meals and pick up cooking tips.
There is jam making, we make our own grape juice, making ketchup and generally preserves for the winter.
The new renovation project of a semi ruin will provide ample distraction from gardening and we are happy to learn from you or pass on our experience and extensive knowledge of the renovation of old houses.
There is also plenty of time to explore the stunning nature and we take you along to show even more "hidden" secrets. There are "mountain bikes" you can use as well.
So be prepared to get your hands dirty but also enjoy life.Aide
We are looking for help in the garden and poly-tunnels (digging, weeding, potting, water management), Maintaining and improving the buildings (tiling, painting, spring/autumn cleaning, etc.).
Finishing the transformation of a semi ruin in the village into a lovely holiday home.
So there are a large variety of tasks available and we happily pass on our knowledge.
If you can cook you are welcome to try your skills and introduce us to your favorite recipes.
Ideally, we are looking for a couple (or two who can share) - singles are welcome as well! - who are prepared to volunteer about 5 days 5 hours daily. According to the needs, hours and days are flexible.Langues

still struggling with Spanish - needs vast improvement. Happy to share fluent German & English (UK)Hébergement
We offer a replica "Bauwagen" which is a small house on wheels. This has a comfortable, extendable (160 x 200) bed, table, chairs etc. Can be heated - electric & gas fire -, does have electricity and access to our WiFi net. Next to it are the old stables which contains the toilet and washbasin. The shower is solar heated beside the Bauwagen or during cold weather there is the bathroom in the rental, if it is not booked or ours.
There is easy access to the "alpendre" which contains a full outside kitchen. Needless to say that you can use our main kitchen as well.
We happily share our warm evening meal with you. During the day we eat irregularly and are happy to share as well, but there are also provisions to make your own meals.
See ya

The property is situated in the province of Lugo just across the rio Sil is Orense (province). The area is also known as Ribeira Sacra. We are near Sober at the end of a small village with about 20 permanent inhabitants, 40 cows, pigs and numerous cats and dogs. Being here it is easy to forget that we are actually in the 21st century.
The next village with a pub and supermarkets is a 20 minutes walk away and it is another 10Km to the next town.
We have 2 bicycles you are welcome to use.
We live in the heart of the Ribeira Sacra, known for its vineyards, beautiful countryside with deep gorges, rugged mountains with untamed nature.
Galicia also called “green Spain” and it is different. One has to experience it to know.
July / August the local swimming pool is open.
During summer we tend to go swimming in the nearby river, you are welcome to join.Informations complémentaires
