Description
Welcome to our home in Walnut Creek: A unique opportunity for connection and growth
Hello! My name is Bruce, and I'm excited to offer you a unique and rewarding experience in the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area.
Open Invitation for 2025
Throughout 2025, I’m thrilled to host visitors who are eager to engage in meaningful companionship and mutual growth. While these times have been challenging, Kim and I prioritize safety by following CDC guidelines, wearing masks indoors, and maintaining social distancing when necessary. Rest assured, we are both vaccinated.
About Me and My Journey
I broke my neck at 18, resulting in lifelong use of a wheelchair. Despite this, I pursued my education and earned multiple degrees. My life has been a testament to resilience and determination, and I’m looking for someone energetic, intelligent, and ready to embrace new challenges with a positive attitude. A good sense of humor and an appreciation for sarcasm are essential, as is an interest in politics, particularly from a liberal perspective.
Our Home and Surroundings
Located 28 miles east of San Francisco in the charming town of Walnut Creek, our home is a small, cozy three-bedroom house. My wife Kim, our service dog Bennett, future service dog in training and our two cats, Edna (who thinks she’s a dog) and Scarlett (a Siamese mix), make up our loving household. The San Francisco Bay Area is renowned for its diversity, rich culture, and beautiful landscapes, making it a wonderful place to live and explore.
Your Role and Contribution
While Kim is my full-time caregiver, I’m seeking friendship and help with things I can’t do and around the house. Here’s how you can contribute:
- Household Tasks: Help with vacuuming the kitchen and living room, keeping the kitchen clean, and assisting with laundry. With two service dogs and two cats, these tasks are much appreciated!
- Personal Assistance: Provide me with water, food, and other necessities that I cannot manage on my own. Helping me is often described as helping yourself twice – a sentiment echoed by my first helper.
- Exploration and Companionship: Drive me to various places so we can explore together or independently. Your assistance during the day is invaluable.
- Yard Work: Occasionally help with yard work, primarily during seasons when the grass needs tending.
- Engage in Discussions: I’m very passionate about politics, particularly left-leaning ideologies. Sharing this interest is important as it fosters deeper connections and mutual understanding.
Living Arrangements
You will have your own bedroom in our three-bedroom house and share a bathroom. Our home is vegetarian and vegan-friendly, ensuring you feel comfortable and welcomed.
A Mutual Learning Experience
This opportunity is not just about assistance; it’s about forming a friendship and learning from each other. I firmly believe that everyone has something valuable to teach, and through our shared experiences, we can grow together.
Looking Forward to Meeting You
If this resonates with you and you’re excited about the possibility of joining our household, please feel free to contact me. Let’s create a memorable and enriching experience together.
Warm regards,
Bruce

The San Francisco Bay Area: The Best Place to Live in the United States
Welcome to the Bay Area, where worldclass cities, breathtaking natural beauty, and vibrant cultural diversity come together in one region. Few places in the world offer so much variety within such a compact area. Whether you’re drawn to hiking under redwoods, exploring neighborhoods bursting with global cuisine, or catching a sunset over the Golden Gate, the Bay Area has it all.
North Bay: Nature’s Masterpiece
The North Bay is a blend of pristine wilderness, iconic coastlines, and rolling wine country.
Muir Woods National Monument – Ancient coastal redwoods towering overhead, just minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge.
Mount Tamalpais State Park – Panoramic views stretching across the Bay, plus trails for hikers of every level.
Point Reyes National Seashore – A protected federal park with dramatic cliffs, lighthouse views, tule elk, and seasonal whale watching.
Wine Country – Napa and Sonoma Valley are global destinations for wine, farmtotable cuisine, and scenic vineyards.
Annadel & Sugarloaf Ridge State Parks – Perfect for hiking, mountain biking, and stargazing.
San Francisco: Urban Culture Meets Natural Wonder
San Francisco is the heart of the Bay, a city that seamlessly mixes cosmopolitan energy with natural splendor.
Golden Gate Park – Larger than New York’s Central Park, home to the de Young Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, and serene lakes.
The Presidio & Crissy Field – Trails, history, and unbeatable Golden Gate Bridge views.
Ocean Beach & Land’s End – Rugged Pacific coastline right at the city’s edge.
Cultural Icons – San Francisco Symphony, Opera, Ballet, SF MOMA, and countless local theaters and galleries.
Neighborhood Gems – Chinatown, North Beach, the Mission District, and HaightAshbury each offer their own cultural heartbeat.
East Bay: Hills, Parks, and Diversity
The East Bay balances vast open spaces with vibrant communities.
East Bay Regional Park District – Over 70 parks and 125,000 acres of hills, lakes, and trails.
Tilden Park & Redwood Regional Park – Escape into quiet forests just minutes from Berkeley and Oakland.
Lake Merritt – A unique tidal lagoon and gathering spot in Oakland, blending nature and community.
Cultural Highlights – Oakland’s murals and music scene, Berkeley’s activism and intellectual fire, and a thriving food culture rooted in global traditions.
Mount Diablo State Park – Panoramic summit views, spring wildflowers, and some of California’s best hiking.
South Bay: Innovation Surrounded by Nature
The South Bay is more than Silicon Valley—it’s a region rich in wildlife refuges, open spaces, and cultural gems.
Big Basin Redwoods & Castle Rock State Parks – Ancient forests and rocky ridges perfect for exploration.
Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge – A vital wetland habitat for migratory birds.
Shoreline Park in Mountain View – Lakeside paths and kiteflying with views of the Bay.
San Jose’s Culture – Home to the Tech Interactive museum, the Mexican Heritage Plaza, San Pedro Market, and one of the last three Japantowns in the U.S.
A Region Like No Other
The Bay Area is defined by its blend of nature and culture:
Federal Parks & Monuments – Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Point Reyes, Muir Woods.
State Parks & Preserves – From Mount Diablo to Big Basin, there’s endless space to explore.
Cultural Diversity – Every cuisine, festival, and art form is represented here, creating a truly global community.
Microclimates – Love the fog? Head to San Francisco. Prefer sun? Try the East Bay. Want cool ocean breezes? Go coastal.
Why the Bay Area Stands Alone
Unmatched Natural Variety – Redwoods, beaches, hills, vineyards, and wetlands all within reach.
Urban Energy – San Francisco’s global culture, Oakland’s creative spirit, San Jose’s multicultural dynamism.
Spirit of Openness – Diversity and inclusiveness are celebrated, making the region a true home for everyone.
Adventure at Your Doorstep – Whether it’s a city stroll or a national park hike, the Bay Area invites exploration daily.
The Bay Area isn’t just a place to live—it’s a place to thrive.
Here, the best of nature and culture come together, offering a lifestyle unlike anywhere else in the United States.Aide
