Hey everyone, my name is Anna and I‘m looking for an opportunity to travel and work for some months soon. I especially love being around animals and nature. Having lived in the city all of my life, I‘m excited to experience a different type of lifestyle. I grew up in a household full of musicians so I really enjoy playing the piano and cello, especially together with other people.

Whilst I worked in the hospital, I’ve developed some skills in caretaking. I’ve worked at a bunch of festivals so I’m used to doing odd jobs or just figuring out tasks independently. I’m also always happy to learn a new skill and very willing to adapt to new challenges.

A Wonderful Person and an Outstanding Workawayer! ❤️

From our very first conversations on WhatsApp, I had a feeling Anna and I were going to get along. We shared a similar sense of humor, and one of our running jokes became, "I don't like your playlist!" As it turned out, I really did like her playlist, and the funny thing is, it had absolutely … read more nothing to do with music! That joke continued throughout her stay and became part of our friendship.

Anna turned out to be a wonderful, caring, intelligent, and independent young woman with a sharp wit and a terrific sense of humor. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations, whether we were discussing politics, exchanging ideas, or simply giving each other a hard time. She has a curious mind, thinks for herself, and is genuinely interesting to talk with. Just as importantly, she is kind, patient, thoughtful, and always willing to lend a hand.

Her stay with us began under somewhat challenging circumstances. I was recovering from some minor bruising on my backside caused by sliding during a transfer. It took several weeks to heal. Throughout that time, Anna was incredibly patient, understanding, and helpful. She never made me feel that anything was too much trouble. Once we established our daily routine, everything ran like clockwork. She learned quickly, remembered the details, anticipated what needed to be done, and approached her responsibilities with care and confidence. She was also an excellent assistant when we went out, a capable driver, and someone I could depend on whenever help was needed.

One of Anna's greatest accomplishments, however, may have been becoming the official ball thrower for Delilah, our puppy in training to become a service dog! Delilah is absolutely obsessed with retrieving balls, and she quickly discovered that Anna possessed a remarkably useful throwing arm. I'm not sure Anna realized what she was getting herself into! I couldn't begin to estimate how many thousands of times she threw that ball, but I'm convinced she could qualify for a position with a Major League Baseball team. Delilah certainly thought she was a superstar!

Anna is studying medicine in Germany and already has two years of medical school behind her. After spending time with her, I can easily imagine her becoming an excellent doctor. She combines intelligence and curiosity with compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to help people. Those are qualities that cannot simply be taught in a classroom.

She's also musically talented, having grown up surrounded by music and learned to play several instruments, including the piano and cello. Unfortunately, I never had the pleasure of hearing her perform in person, although I did see a YouTube video of her playing the piano. Anna is also an avid chess player, something I noticed as she frequently enjoyed playing games on her phone. Between her interest in chess, her musical abilities, and her medical studies, she certainly has an active and curious mind. Apparently, her talents extend well beyond throwing tennis balls!

What impressed me most about Anna was not any single accomplishment but the combination of her character, intelligence, reliability, humor, and kindness. She is wonderfully independent, adapts quickly to new situations, and is always willing to learn. She can take responsibility without needing constant direction, yet she's equally happy to work together and share a laugh along the way.

Over the years, Kim and I have welcomed many people into our home, and Anna is certainly someone we will remember with great affection. What began as a Workaway arrangement developed into a genuine friendship, something I value far more than simply having an extra pair of hands around the house.

Anna is now heading off to Australia for her next adventure, and I wish her every happiness and success. Whoever has the good fortune to welcome her into their home or work alongside her will have found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

I wholeheartedly recommend Anna for any volunteer opportunity, assistant position, or job she chooses to pursue. She has earned my respect, appreciation, and friendship. I'm genuinely grateful for the time she spent with us, and I hope our paths cross again.
