  Description

  I am Asiri,
  
  I run a small hostel in Negombo.
  Together with my two staff members we make sure everything is clean and the guests are happy.
  
  Many guests come to my hostel and plan to stay for one or two nights, but end up staying longer because of the relaxed feeling here.
  
  The hostel is close to the the beach, where we can see and have beautiful sunsets.
  We play sunset beach volleball and, when the ocean let us, we do sea swimming and bodysurfing.
  
  The hostel is getting busier, so i am looking for a volunteer to help around the hostel and be a social host.
  
  If you like to stay near the beach, meet people from all over, and help a small hostel grow, let's get get in touch

  At the hostel you will experience the real Sri Lankan life, while having fun.
  And in your freetime you can explore more of the culture and nature of Sri Lanka.
  
  Our hostel is a hotspot for travelers from all around the world, where we try to connect people with each other (locals and tourists).
  
  Several days a week, we organize evening activities, like open water sea swimming, sunset trips, and beach volleyball.
  The sea swimming is guided by our trained swimmers.
  If you enjoy the ocean and outdoor fun, this will suit you.
  
  During your stay, we will teach about Sri Lankan culture, traditional food and local life.
  If you want to know more about running a hostel, cooking local dishes or finding the best hidden spots, i am happy to share knowledge about it.
  Maybe i can't share my knowledge about cooking, but my staff knows how to cook.
  
  We also love to learn from our guests and volunteers, about their cultures, languages and travel storys.
  Every excange makes our place more colorful and lively

  Help us at our Hostel in Sri Lanka 🌴
  
  I am looking for a volunteer and social host in the hostel.
  
  The things you might do as a volunteer:
  - Be a social host to the guests.
  - Welcoming guests and helping with check-in and check-out.
  - Giving travel tips or just talking to the guests.
  - Helping in the morning and make sure everyone is happy.
  - Light cleaning to keep the hostel nice and tidy.
  - Keeping an eye on the rooms and common areas, so everything looks clean.
  - Answering emails of WhatsApp messages.
  - Simple administrative help, nothing difficult, i'll show you how.
  - Help or give ideas to setup a weekly social plan for our guests to enjoy the evenings in Negombo.
  - Some art or paintwork.
  - Organise game nights.
  
  We usually share the work between the staff and help each other out.
  
  Some days you will do more cleaning and other days it’s just spending time with the guests.
  
  You will be available for volunteer work for 5 hours per day for 5 days a week.
  With a minimum stay of 3 weeks.
  
  In the time you stay at my hostel, you get to learn how running a hostel works (if you are interested).
  And ofcourse you will enjoy the sunsets, the food, and the local life.
  
  My place is a relaxed and positive place, so if you’re friendly, responsible, and enjoy meeting new people, you’ll fit right in .
  
  After the guests have gotten their breakfast, we provide a local breakfast for our staff and volunteers too.
  
  And meals are shared
  If you want to learn how to cook Sri Lankan food we can teach you.
  
  We mostly eat toghether and share the meals.
  
  We have a fully equipped kitchen that is only available for staff (and volunteer) use.
  You can bring your own ingredients and cook at any time, the kitchen is yours when you need it.

  Ps. If you are able to teach yoga as the volunteer, i would like to set up a yoga class a couple of times a week. We can discuss this later.

  I love meeting people from all over the world and exchanging languages. While you stay with us, you’ll have the chance to practice English every day with guests, staff, and the local community. I can also help you learn some basic Sinhala phrases if you are interested , it’s a great way to try to talk and connect more deeply with local people during your travels. At the same time, we are always excited to learn new words and expressions from your language and culture too. It’s a real exchange where everyone teaches and learns something new!

  Hébergement

  We offer a bed in one of our dormitory rooms in the hostel.
  
  You will sleep in one of our air-conditioned dormitory rooms.
  Females can stay in the female dorm, males can stay in the mixed dorm
  
  Each bed has fresh bedding and a blanket, and you will have acces to the shared bathrooms, Wi-Fi and laundry facilities.
  
  The hostel is located in a quiet area, but still close to the beach and main road. It is just a 5 minute walk to the beach.
  
  We have created a clean, friendly, social and respectful environment, we hope you would like to be a part of it during your stay!

  When you have time off, there is plenty to explore.
  
  The hostel is located near beautiful beaches and there are a lot of outdoor activities to enjoy.
  You can go for a swim, join the beach volleyball we organise or enjoy the open water swimming, or bodysurfing with our trained staff.
  
  If you are into nature, you can explore the local area, visit nearby villages, or just relax in the hostel garden.
  
  For transport, tuk-tuks are easy to find for short trips, and you can also catch local busses to nearby towns or attractions.
  I'll be happy to help with direcrions and recommended the best options to get around.
  
  We value a fun and social environment at the hostel, but we also enjoy a peaceful and respectful evening, so we ask everyone to keep the noise levels down at 10 PM to ensure everybody get a good night rest.
  
  Our main goal is to create a friendly, relaxing, an social atmosphere, so we expect everyone to be polite, respectful and considerate with staff and guests.
