Description
I am Rahul and I live with my wife Ira in a picturesque village at the foothills of the Dhauladhar mountains in India. I and my wife are running a small homestay in Kand bari village which is fast acquiring a reputation for hosting alternate thinking individuals, families and institutions. Construction on our mud/bamboo/stone house has just come to an end.
The food that we consume is one of the most important things with the potential to connect us to this earth. As a logical extension of many years of involvement with a group of people promoting sustainable agriculture in the hills, I have started an enterprise whereby it is intended to manufacture truly junk free food, fermented drinks and other chemical free products (like bio-enzyme based cleansers or shampoos) for discerning customers. The objective behind the enterprise is not just to make money go around but also to present a viable alternative to the junk that is making us diseased and also raise food awareness as a result.
I am looking for people who would want to join in order to contribute to a brighter future for this wonderful planet that we take for granted.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Visitors can stay with us and learn more about how we and our neighbouring villagers live, cook, eat, farm, attend local festivals are fairs. This is an interesting place to explore nearby parts of the Dhauladhar mountains, attend courses/discussions. I also practice yoga and meditation and can share some of what I have learnt.

As we have just started at the food enterprise, there are many challenges - from standardising recipes and processes, legal issues, streamlining production, brand building and market development.
I am currently looking for people who can help me in one or more of these tasks:
1. Helping develop new recipes. I am working with alternate materials like millets, barley, buckwheat, amaranth, cold pressed oils
2. Helping with market development, promotion of products over internet and offline
3. Designing a website for e-commerce
4. Fundraising and financial managementLangues parlées

Accommodation would involve shared room or shared dorm in our mud-bamboo house with a common bathroom. The room is airy, warm and well lighted. Food will involve simple meals with the family in our kitchen. We serve simple but nutritious meals , and you can always cook whatever you want as we have all the basic ingredients and utensils. We are trying our best to manage our plastic waste and would like volunteers to fully cooperate in this endeavour.
Autres infos...
Kandbari is an interesting village with a number of beautiful walks among the pastures and the fields, a Himalayan stream (our regular haunt during summer afternoons) and treks to nearby mountain destinations. The quiet atmosphere and the clear air attracted us here. Though the village life is changing today with greater money inflow, it still has more desirables than otherwise. Peoples' lives are getting more and more connected to markets and the thoughtless products it throws at us but this also creates an opportunity to promote alternatives that are healthful, sustainable and equitable.
