I stayed with Lucy and her family for almost two weeks. They were very kind and welcoming from the beginning, Lucy picked me up from the station when i arrived. Their home is amazing, the studio is cute and comfy, you will feel like you are on a holiday. Girls are very polite and kind, Nina was an amazing tourguide, she showed me everything in
… read more Biot village❤️ Right under their villa there are hiking trails, you can also easily walk to Biot village or Valbonne following the river. Lots of geocaches to find also haha. Bus stop is 10 mins walk away if you wanna take it to Valbonne/Biot/Antibes. I helped them in the garden, weeding, oiling some wood, shredding bamboos with Dan, some cleaning, organising Lexy's books. It was flexible, what i am very grateful for, Lucy told me there is a nice market in Valbonne Friday morning, so i walked there following the river and helped in the afternoon when i got back home. I also went to Cannes for two days for the Canneseries...what ended up being 3,5 days 😅 and that was also no problem. Mayla was very cute followed me around and 'helped' when i was working in the garden😄 Amazing food! I have heard Dan and Izzy playing music what was very special! They are very talented, first time i have heard Izzy playing on the piano i though the music is coming from her phone! I even checked on shazam what the song is and later realized that is her playing!🤯 It was my first workaway experience, i feel very lucky I ended up with them, i had a call with Lucy only one day before my flight to Nice! It was very frustrating finding a host in the area, because it seems like hosts don't like to reply to messages😅 but Lucy did!🙏 Very welcoming family! Thank you!❤️
(Side note for helpers: when it comes to bus 620 and 630 google map is very bad at showing you where the bus stops are!)

It was brilliant having Danshi with us. She is really easy going and positive. Our kids really loved having her around as did we! Her vegan cooking was delicious and she was a great help in general. She fit in with our routine easily and was on hand when needed and also for some last minute emergency school runs! Thank you Danshi for everything! ❤️

Let me just say: Lucy, Dan, and their children are the most spectacular people I had met along my travels in Europe. After a few bad experiences with inattentive and anti-social hosts, Biot was a breath of fresh air. I absolutely adore this family, and I cannot recommend staying with them enough. Lucy and Dan are outgoing, caring, and have great
… read more senses of humor; and the girls are sweet, enthusiastic, and always put a smile on my face.
I mainly worked on a large weeding project in the garden, as well as some other small garden tasks. Nothing felt too extensive, and I found that the work actually went by quite quickly (thanks to Lucy’s amazing podcast recommendations). Additionally, I cooked meals most nights, which I really enjoyed, and it seems the family did too, hung/folded laundry, and helped looked after the girls when their parents were away.
I was welcomed so quickly and warmly, and everyday was filled with excitement, even on the days when I had to work. I worked on an every-other-day schedule, but Lucy allows you to pick your own schedule. I traveled to nearby towns all over the Riviera, as well as to Monaco for a day!
Lastly, I felt so assimilated into the family, and never once was I left out or excluded from the festivities. I had plenty of downtime to relax alone in the studio; however, Lucy always made me feel welcomed into their home and invited me to chat and hangout with her or the kids whenever I wanted.

Hannah stayed with us for two weeks in September. It was a pleasure to have her with us. She was a great help with the kids & running the house and her cooking was delicious. Thank you Hannah! X

Where should I start? They're a very lively, open minded and welcoming family! Already on the day I arrived, the atmosphere was very pleasant and I felt as if I'd known them not just for some hours.
About my work: Most of the time, I asked Lucy what I had to do and then I could choose when to do it, or she would tell me spontaneously how I could
… read more help her. I hung out and folded the laundry, wrote a grocery shopping list, made lunch and/or dinner, swept the steps and terrace, cleaned and organised their music room, took their daughter to the school bus, walked the dog and cleaned the car.
It was very easy to please them with my cooking (also with the other tasks). They never had too high expectations and were just happy to have a bit of support in their daily lives because they had to work so much.
AND Lucy always made sure that I had enough free time to explore the nearby towns (Antibes, Cannes, Nice, Monaco...).
I definitely don't regret having stayed with them.
