  Hello, my name is Ambrogio, I have been involved in agriculture since I was young. I live with my wife on our farm in Sicily. Sometimes my daughter also comes on weekends. I think that being able to cultivate the land is a privilege to be shared with proactive, cheerful people who are similar to our way of being. The philosophy we carry forward is that of a purely human exchange, preferring to feel good together to share the beauty that nature offers every day, convinced that the land and crops are important tools for socialization and awareness, relating to food self-determination. We are firmly convinced that it is from the land that we must start again, to redefine the time that this globalized society tends to make slip away from us. The company surface of about ten hectares is used for olive groves, cultivation of ancient grains in rotation with legumes and forage, we also have a permanent vegetable garden and a small orchard. In addition, we have animals such as chickens, sheep, two goats, a donkey, four cats and a beautiful young dog, which we take care of. In respect of human health and the environment, we do not use chemical fertilizers or herbicides. With kitchen scraps, bran and the waste from cleaning cereals and legumes we feed the chickens, which we raise in the open field and provide us with excellent eggs. We also have sheep and a donkey named Gemma who constantly feeds on wild plants and in the future will help us with processing and transport within our farm.
  The work carried out on the farm is not only related to the cultivation of the land and the harvesting of its fruits but also maintenance, carpentry and masonry. The hospitality we offer aims at the practical/theoretical exchange of information, respecting the sustainable lifestyle and in harmony with the environment.
  
  Salve, mi chiamo Ambrogio, mi occupo di agricoltura fin da giovane. Vivo con mia moglie nella nostra fattoria in Sicilia. A volte anche mia figlia viene nei fine settimana. Penso che poter coltivare la terra sia un privilegio da condividere con persone propositive, allegre e affini al nostro modo di essere. La filosofia che portiamo avanti è quella di uno scambio puramente umano, prediligendo lo stare bene insieme per condividere la bellezza che la natura offre ogni giorno, convinti che la terra e le coltivazioni siano importanti strumenti di socializzazione e consapevolezza, relativa all’autodeterminazione alimentare. Siamo fermamente convinti che è dalla terra che si deve ripartire, per ridefinire il tempo che questa società globalizzata tende a farci sfuggire di mano. La superficie aziendale di circa dieci ettari è impiegata ad oliveto, coltivazione di grani antichi in rotazione con legumi e foraggere, abbiamo anche un orto permanente ed un piccolo frutteto. Inoltre, abbiamo animali come polli, pecore, pecore, due capre, un asino, quattro gatti e un bel cane giovane, di cui ci prendiamo cura. Nel rispetto della salute umana e dell'ambiente non usiamo concimi chimici né diserbanti. Con gli avanzi della cucina, la crusca e gli scarti della pulitura dei cereali e legumi alimentiamo le galline, che alleviamo in pieno campo e ci forniscono ottime uova. Abbiamo anche degli ovini e un’asinella di nome Gemma che si nutre costantemente di spontanee e in futuro ci aiuterà nelle lavorazioni e nei trasporti all’interno della nostra fattoria.
  I lavori che si svolgono in azienda non sono solo relativi alla coltivazione della terra e la raccolta dei suoi frutti ma anche di manutenzione, falegnameria e muratura. L’ospitalità che noi offriamo mira allo scambio pratico\teorico di informazioni, nel rispetto dello stile di vita sostenibile ed in armonia con l’ambiente.

  Volunteers can learn agricultural processing techniques, learn about Sicilian plants, and enjoy wonderful walks immersed in Sicilian nature.
  
  I volontari possono imparare tecniche di lavorazione agricole, imparare a conoscere tipologie di piante siciliane, e godere di splendide passeggiate immersi nella natura Siciliana.

  Aide

  We are looking for people who can help us cultivate the soil, taking care of the animals, with the masonry of the housing estate, and with the maintenance. Volunteers would work no more than five hours a day with two free days per week. Work is not difficult, it is a manual job that has to do with earth and plants and also some manual and artistic work.
  
  
  Siamo alla ricerca di persone che ci possano aiutare per la coltivazione del terreno, la muratura della struttura abitativa, a prenderci cura degli animali e con la manutenzione. I volontari lavorerebbero non più di cinque ore al giorno con due giorni liberi alla settimana. Il lavoro non è difficile, è un lavoro manuale che ha a che fare con la terra e le piante e anche alcuni lavori manuali e artistici.

  The volunteer will have a private room while the bathroom is shared. The living property is very large, with large outdoor spaces and varied plots of land.
  
  
  Il volontario avrà a disposizione una camera condivisa con bagno. La struttura abitativa è molto grande, con grande spazi esterni e vari appezzamenti di terra.

  The territory is rich in archaeological sites. Visits will be organized with the means of the company as long as possible. There is also a train station just a five minute walk away so it is very easy to go to other cities such as Palermo or Catania.
  
  
  Il territorio è ricco di siti archeologici. Le visite saranno organizzate con i mezzi dell’azienda, qual'ora possibile. Vi è inoltre la stazione dei treni a cinque minuti a piedi, quindi è molto facile andare a visitare altre citta, come Palermo o Catania.
