Description
We live on a small farm and have sheep and cattle. We are within walking distance of Fairlie (which is near Tekapo/Mt Cook/Timaru/Geraldine). We are near a Christian church, swimming pool, library and shops. We also have a couple horses and a range of dogs, cats & birds. Kevin is a fly fishing guide seven months of the year and Jodi works from home so Jodi could use a hand with general farm work, maintenance, painting, building, gardening, housework, cooking, etc. Help hours and days are very flexible. Vehicle/bicycles may be available. Jodi is American and Kevin a Kiwi. We have two children who have now left home. Our daughter Kelty was born in 2005 and lives in Christchurch. Our son Alex was born in 2001 and lives in America. Its a bit quiet for us and we love to have visitors!

We could use a hand with general farm tasks, home/general maintenance, gardening, housework, cooking, everyday life, etc. It's always changing. We will sometimes go and help others with gardening/cleaning if there is a need in the community. Communication is key... Our lifestyle isn't routine which means we can be flexible with hours and days around what you want to do, the weather, etc. and we value travellers who are also flexible with our changeable lifestyle. We have a list of jobs and projects and appreciate motivated helpers who just jump right in and get involved...if theres nothing organized, you can do something on the list or just notice what needs doing.

When you arrive, you become family. We want you to be comfortable and feel at home. You will have a private room in the main house with a shared bathroom. Unlimited wifi. Food provided. Self serve breakfast, lunch and snacks, with dinner prepared (help always appreciated with preparation and clean up). We often eat late so usually have late starts.

SIdney stayed with us for about two weeks...and came back later on for a visit with her Mom. I love it when workaways become family!!! Sidney is super friendly and keen to jump in and do whatever is asked. Our lifestyle is a bit crazy with plans always changing. Sidney was very adaptable!

My only complaint is that Hilde wasn't here long enough...we would have adopted her if given the opportunity. A lovely, mature, thoughtful young woman. Always offering to help and happy to do whatever was asked. Hilde's English is excellent.

We had a wonderful time at Jodi's and Kevin's small farm. We stay 10days and really felt like home. Our "tasks" have been quite varied : a bit of weeding, fixing the floor, stock the wood, doing the dogs' morning walk.

Hanna stayed with us for almost three weeks... it was fun having another PNW girl in the house. She was very flexible with our crazy schedule and various jobs, from cleaning and staining the deck to gardening to cleaning out the woolshed. She even named our new puppy, Rex! Clarisse is very friendly, respectful and tidy. We are not a typical workaway with ever changing plans and late nights. Clarisse was very flexible and understanding. She did a variety of jobs and volunteered to go with Kevin to see extra things on the farm. We really enjoyed getting to know her and hope to see her again on her travels!
