I stayed at Yoshi’s place for almost a month, and it was one of the best experiences of this year! I met lots of interesting people, made friends, and got to know the beautiful city of Ghent. I am writing this few months later, but still wanted to share the amazing experience I had. This place truly was indescribable. Lots of people to meet and variety of different tasks to do. Hard to feel bored in Ghent. I can't wait to go back!

I am very happy with my stay as a first Workaway experience!! I would not have expected to learn this much in two weeks of cleaning out theatre storages. I learned how to use new tools and very much enjoyed driving the forklift; I did quite some things that I did not know I could do before :). Tasks are very random and not really known beforehand,

Yoshi has this crazy creative mind (bit chaotic) and I loved to see how he and his coworkers tackled problems like moving a huge container. I really enjoyed our conversations, and Yoshis amazing stories. It was inspiring to see al of fun stuff they make, in an environmental friendly way, while also making a societal impact.
During the day time there is a lot of people around to work and hang out with, but in the evening I stayed by myself in an old hospital bus and mostly cooked alone. The city is not far by bike though, and there is a lot of fun stuff to do.
Would definitely recommend this place and love to come back sometimes :). Thank you thank you!

My stay with Yoshi was a match made in paradise. The grizzly docks of Northern Europe, which provided the stage for much of my early life, mutated into a wonderland of self-expression, cheese, and litter picking! Had an absolute blast working with Yoshi and all his legendary mates, the work is fun and pretty easy stuff.
Had allot of spare time to explore the surrounding areas and get involved in ghents crazy nightlife which made my stay even more special.
will defiantly be returning next year to give Yoshi a hand with his projects.

This is such an amazing place, I really recommend it! I spent almost one month there and made a lot of memories! You have so much freedom here: I had an amazing huge room with a double bed and a table which is located just next to the atelier where you can use different tools and materials to build and create whatever you want ! … read more beautiful garden where we had dinners (when Belgian weather allowed it) and even a meeting room which is mostly used to watch movies and play nintendo switch (on huge projector). Yoshi has travelled everywhere and knows pretty much everything so it was very interesting to spend time with him and his friends. The tasks are really cool and always different: one day I was bartending , another day helping with construction of decorations for the festival and etc. There was a bike and even a kayak for me to explore the city so I never got bored.
