  We are looking for someone, single, couple, family or friends to stay in our yurt and take care of our lovely cat and take care of the land.
  About 1 month from 20/12 to mid January.
  
  It is perfect for people with their own van and willing to settle a bit and be more confortable in the middle of the winter.
  And you need to like cats. Jacqueline loves cuddles and need attention.
  
  The yurt is 37m2, has a salamandra, an outdoor well equiped and confortable kitchen, hot shower and dry toilet.

  Hello!
  We are Jaun (40) and Lisa (36), a french couple living on Alentejo's coast since 2018 (2h south of Lisbon). After travelling in different countries all over the world, we decided to settled down and found a beautiful land to live, 10min from a village and 30min from the sea (by car).
  
  We live here for 7 years and we started to build up a cosy and natural space to be able to live on the land: Yurt, outside kitchen, dry toilet and bathroom. And 3 years and a half ago we started to renovate a traditional Taipa (earth) house.
  So far, about 70 friends helped us to work on the house, it has been amazing but still have a lot to do !
  
  At the moment, we are still living in the yurt, off grid and when we have time we continue building the house.
  Meanwhile, we became parents and we welcomed litlle Mila. She is now 8 months.
  
  When we are not taking care of the land or building, we both work. Jaun is in charge of a biodyanmic vinyard and works with a local Theatre company (sound technician) and Lise is a Yoga Teacher and also works with social projects.
  
  On the land, you have your own space to sleep in a caravan with a double bed. We share the common space (kitchen area and bathroom).
  
  As written above, we both work and we are not always available so we are looking for people who already have experience to live with others, who are independant, easy going and who can take responsibility with their tasks.
  From our experience, since we are a couple and not a comunity, we know that it is nicer for you and for us to host a couple or 2 friends at the same time.
  Also, since we live 10minutes from the village, you need to have your own car.
  
  In general, we also like to have fun, free time, to chill, to party, to be in the nature, to go to the beach to surf or swim, to eat nice food and drink a beer with friends.

  From what our friends, family, travellers and volunteers said, they always feel good spending time on our land.
  
  For many people, it is quite a big change to spend time with us because we live most of the time outside. So it is a good way to live simply, more connected to the Nature with basic but nice confort (meaning: no fridge, no washing machine, limited electricity in general...).
  
  About the work on the land, we are always happy to share what we have learned so far and we like to learn new things from you.
  
  We also really like to spend time with friends, we both speak Portuguese and we are quite well integrated to the local life. So it is also a way to better know the area, local coffee, local food, events, projects, etc..
  
  But, It is good to acknowledge that we are just a couple (not a community), we live here since a while so we have our life is with friends and work and Lisa is pregnant so we also need time on our own. :)

  Aide

  We need help for one week to clean and maintain the land. Between the house to renovate and the arrival of baby Mila, we are a bit overwhelmed and we don't find time to take care of the land.
  
  What we expect from you:
  - cut branches
  - water plants
  - collect woods, stones
  - weeding
  
  And we also ask to be part of the daily life with us including: cooking or help the cook, clean dishes and in general to keep the space nice and confortable, toilets and shower clean.
  
  HOURS AND EXCHANGE:
  We expect the workawayers to do 5h/day 5days/week.
  You can choose how to organize your time.
  We are providing a place to stay (caravan) and 3 basic meals a day (veggy meals).
  
  NB: The helpers buy their own personal and special treats (like juice, snacks, alcool, etc....).

  Hébergement

  We have a small caravan with a double bed and a sofa (that can be a bed too but it is small).
  We share our kitchen and our bathroom.
  We have a compost toilet and hot shower.
  
  We are a small and low budget project so we can only provide simple facilities. But this is how we live everyday and we think it is comfortable for people who like to live in nature.

  In this area, you will get to the chance to discover a peaceful part of Portugal and meeting many people from all over the world coming here to find a better place to live close to the Nature! Lots of interesting things are going on in the region and they are many projects to discover.
  We are located in the Natural park of the Alentejo coast, it is possible to go hiking, fishing, canoeing, and to surf and swim in beautiful beaches.
  But as we said before, it is essential to have your own car.

  We have a good internet connexion for normal internet use. During the cat and land sitting, you can use the internet as you wish.

  it is possible depending of the size of the camper/van because of the trees and the shape of the land.

  Possibilité d'accueillir les animaux

  it can be possible but it needs to be a pet that is friend with cat. We have one gentle cat called Jacqueline! nd there is no closed fence around the land. (The neighbours have sheeps and chikckens).
