It was very nice to have Emmy and Goof visit. Emmy did an excellent job with the housework, particularly impressing with how she scrubbed the pine floors spotlessly white. Goof is calm and kind, and was a good role model for my restless Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Best of luck on your travels

I’ve been so busy I almost forgot to leave a review for this kind family 🤭.
Me and my dog were looking for a place to stay for 20 days and Ida was there to welcome us into her home! We really enjoyed our stay there! The pretty views all around during the day and watching the star lit sky by night! The dogs had to get used to eachother for a few

We tried some of Ida’s vegan meals and they were so good! She definitely proved vegan food can be good!
The work was lovely too! We got a list which I found really nice to help with since I could just check off the things that were done and then move on to the next step! There was also no pressure and I was allowed to do things on my own tempo which was really nice. It was overal a great workaway experience and we would definitely recommend them!
Hopefully we will meet again in the future!
Greetings!

Anais and Merle stayed with us for one month in November, giving our house a proper autumn clean up during a hectic working period for the family. In November we stayed one month with Ida and her family and had a really nice and mostly relaxed time there, which passed way too fast.

Our tasks were mostly cleaning and other housework like hanging and folding the laundry. But we also painted the walls in the hallway and a wardrobe. We really liked the weekly planner, which helped us to organize ourselves. In that way we had a lot of free time, which we spend playing Skip-Bo, baking, cuddling the cats and walking in the nature.
We were also able to visit Lillehammer and Hamar, while Ida had meetings there. If you want to visit Lillehammer in the weekend by bus you need to walk one hour to the station in Segalstad. There are also the stores so if you want to experience the surroundings without the family it's easier to bring your own car.
Most of the time we were on ourselves but we had nice movie nights and walks together with the family. Together we also visited Ida's grandma and the local church, which was really touching.
We had one really funny weekend with Yngve Johan, Ida and the "wedding-champagne" where we could talk for hours about everything and anything, including German lessons with Rammstein and "Der Bleistift hat einen Hund".
We will definitely remember Ida's KonMari folding and her baking paper method! ;)

Charlotte and Anton provided us with great company and help for one week in September. They cleaned parts of our house, demolished an old terrace, took care of my lawn and flowerbeds, and spoiled my cats rotten. I wish them welcome back anytime!

It was a pleasure to have Johanna as a guest this fall. She helped us with various tasks in the house, such as cleaning, cooking, painting and babysitting. As much as labor, she was a pleasant company. We had many nice conversations and discussions, on both a humorous and philosophical level. Johanna is outgoing and positive, and easy to get along

I stayed for almost a month with Ida Elise and her family in the fall. Ida Elise is such a nice, friendly and open-minded person. Since she is also very uncomplicated and easy-going, I generally felt very comfortable there. We had a lot of interesting conversations about life, did some Yoga together, enjoyed movie nights and had a nice road trip
… read more including 90s music. The boys are really nice and happy kids as well. Staying there, I didn't feel like somebody who was there to work so much as just a part of the family. My tasks included taking care of household chores, cooking, accompanying one of the kids to school and doing some painting. Since the tasks weren't that difficult or time-consuming, it allowed me to spend a lot of time on my own projects and go for hikes in the beautiful surroundings of Gausdal (it helps if you have a car, in between I could use one of theirs). The nature up there is absolutely mesmerizing.
Since the family shifts between Gausdal and Hoenefoss, it was possible to see and live in two places. During my time there I definitely learned a lot about minimalism - Ida Elise, I have actually become tidier since living at your place! - and I learned quite a few of really good vegan recipes. Thank you so much, Ida Elise and Yngve Johan, for opening your homes, for your humor and your generosity - and maybe our paths will cross again next time I am up there in Norge :) Tusen takk og lykke til!Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

I spent 6 weeks with Ida Elise, Yngve Johan & the Kids and had a great time there.
I could help with several projects involving cleaning out the barn and feeding the sheep of Ida Elises Parents, help with the renovation of their residence in Hønefoss and "Babysitting" the Kids. In my time there I felt like a part of their family and gratefully

My tasks were really diversified which I enjoyed a lot. From giving food to the cats or other everyday tasks to adjusting the new facade of their "second" house I had a varied time with a lot of nice freetime activities. There are several opportunitites/routes for hikes, especially at the Cabin. The view from the house is also really relaxing if you don't feel like activity. If you are more a citiy person then there is Lillehammer nearby where you can visit the Olympic area or the beautiful hospital:)
So I really enjoyed staying with Ida Elise and Yngve Johan (Thank you for everything!) and hope I will one day come back.
Best regards, Valentin! :)
We have had the pleasure of having Valentine visit for the last month and a half. He is a cheerful and positive young man, who had very good contact with our three young sons. Krystal visited us for about a month around Christmas time, and we really enjoyed her visit! She was a great helper around the house, and our boys really liked playing with her. She helped us out arranging a couple of parties, both cooking and cleaning. She also showed us how to do som yoga exercises. I will recommend Krystal as a perfect helper

We stayed with Ida and her lovely family for almost 4 weeks in august and september and it was a unforgettable experience for us!
Our main tasks were very varied. Between cleaning, tiding up and doing some gardening we also had time to paint some old furniture, making marmalade (with multebaer-fruits, which we picked together with Ida in the

Ida is an amazing host! She was very caring and overall we had always the feeling of being most welcome. Ida is also an amazing cook so we enjoyed a lot of delicious meals :)
Her home is so lovely, we spend a lot of time there, reading books, relaxing, cuddeling the cat or going for a walk. From the first day on we felt very comfortable.
We were also happy to spend time with the three boys, although we didn't understood eachother, we had a lot of fun together. With Ida and her boyfriend, we spend many evenings just sitting and talking for hours. We learned so many things about norvegian lifestyle, tradition, history and so on..
In the weekends we had time off. Some of them we spend together with Ida and her family. They always invited us to join them on their trips (for example to a cabin by a lake) and spent some days in Honefoss, the city where Idas boyfriend lives. So we had the possibility to see a lot of norway!
We think it is rare to meet such warm-hearted people like Ida and her family and we are so happy that we met them.
Thank you for everything Ida Elise and Ingve Johan and best regards from Italy :)Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

My time at Ida's place was really nice and the almost 2 weeks I spent there were passing very fast! She has a very comfortable house and a nice room for guests where you can have a relaxed time. I spent my free time with hiking, going on a day trip to Lillehammer and just relaxing. I was also happy that Ida introduced me to her family which were all warm-hearted and nice to meet and that she always invited me to spend time with her and her kids. It would have been nice to be able to speak some norwegian to actually talk to the kids and take part in conversations when visiting the family, that would have made things even better.
Ida was a caring host and was always interested in my well-being. I'm grateful for the good time and the nice memories!Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

A perfect guest! Giulia stayed with us in August and early September, and it was a great pleasure for the whole family.
