Description
* currently looking for a hard working, energetic individual(s). Construction experience would be a benefit but not a necessity. We are looking for help with a water supply project that requires practical skill and someone able to take instruction well. *
We own a family run farm in the interior of beautiful British Columbia. We take great joy in hosting volunteers from around the world and have done so for the past 20+ years. Our volunteers are keeping busy coming alongside us to help with daily activities that come with a ranch. We also have a large garden and orchard to produce food for our family. Besides cattle we have a few beehives, 3 dogs (Great Pyrenees, Bernese Mountain dogs and a mini wiener dog), cats as well as horses. Our dogs love getting pet and spent time with. Our horses also like attention and benefit from a good grooming . :)
We are a fun loving, hard working, christian family. Our children are young adults and don’t live at home anymore. We do see them on most weekends though.
We provide hearty homemade meals and you’re sure to not go hungry while staying with us! You also get your own place that you share with another workawayer. It is located about 1km from the main ranch house. There you have your own room and bathroom as well as unlimited internet and a living room and kitchen. You’d eat breakfast there and lunch and dinner at the ranch. On weekends you’d cook your own food that we provide for you.
It would be ideal if you had a vehicle to explore the beautiful area on your days off. We live 40 mins from a ski resort (Sun Peaks) and we are surrounded by forests, lakes, rivers and large provincial wilderness parks (Wells Gray Provincial Park). There is opportunity for skiing or snowboarding during winter and hiking, canoeing, swimming, river rafting etc. in the summer. If living and helping on a western family farm interests you, we would love to hear from you. -

Travelers would benefit learning English, nature, animals, life on a western Canadian farm and all it entails. We love interacting with our workawayers… you learn from us and we learn from you.
Also, we are close to a large Provincial Park (Wells Gray Provincial Park) which offers hiking, fishing, canoeing etc.. Sun Peaks Ski Resort is only 40 minutes from the ranch and it offers alpine and cross country skiing, snowshoeing, tubing, in winter and hiking, mountain biking, golfing in the summer. -

Helping out with fall cleanup and gardening, yard and household chores. We also have two dogs, one a puppy , who love to be pet and spent time with.
