    Description

Ready to learn about the Nepali culture? Want to take part in a wholesome experience and help us make a postive change for a brighter and sustainable future?
Live as community inside a travelers hub.

Namaste, my name is Bishwo, im a local from Bhaktapur. My friend Lena is from New Zealand and we are aiming to establish an organic farm that functions as an education cente to teach Nepali and everyone around the world about permaculture, sustainable living and environmental care.

This will be a community based project, we are also supporting locals with regular employment.

These initiatives are designed to cultivate self-reliance and enhance community health.

We recognize Nepal's abundant agricultural potential and the urgent need to reintegrate the nation's youth into farming. Too many Nepali are moving abroad struggling to survive and most of our food is imported from India.

I hope in the next few years we can host, retreats, camps, workshops and continue to expand our vision.

Join us in our journey to cultivate a sustainable, prosperous future for Nepal. Your support will initiate a ripple effect that extends beyond the project.
Together, let's nurture hope and prosperity in the fertile lands of Nepal, transforming lives and landscapes one seed at a time.

Bhaktapur is a beautiful historical UNSCO city full of stories, monuments, temples, culture. It is home to the Newa community (an ethnic group inside Kathmandu Valley)
You will discover something new everyday just walking in the streets, we have a different language, local cuisine, clothing, traditions and festivals.

Here everyday It's a living museum. Things haven't really changed much in the last 100 years.
I was born and raised here. I enjoy sharing my culture and city with travelers from a local prespective.

I'm actively working on different community projects, charity's and networking with local businesses so you will have the opportunity to meet a lot of locals.

We can teach you some Nepali and our staff can also teach you how to cook our national dish, Dahl Baht.

We have many amazing cultural festivals in Bhaktapur, they usually run between 1-10 days long. We always encourage everyone to enjoy them, watch the events, sometimes our schedule at the farm may change because of this.

We are in the very beginning stages of the farm project.

We would love 4 weeks minimum of helping hands but we are open for 2 weeks if your time is limited. We are choosing to host volunteers because we want to build a community and create meaningful friendships and memories. We need self motivated leaders who are passionate about the project and want to make a difference.

What we need help with on the farm..

    1: Construction
If you are skilled in carpentry, woodwork, brick laying we have pleantly of building projects, like building a farm house, green house and animal shelters.

    2: Website Developer / Admin
We need a website to showcase our beautiful projects. Preferably would like someone who is proficient in English.
Photography, creating content for social media, answering emails and website.

    3: Farm tasks
We are at the beginning stages of building our farm.
-Constructing a small organic vegetable garden.
-Building fences, digging, planting, weeding and clearing land.

When applying, please tell us why you would love to contribute to the project.

Please consider that our daily life tasks are not part of the working. This basically means, lend a hand in the kitchen and help with the washing up. (We all cook and clean in our own home so please feel at home! Switching from task to task daily may be required so being flexible and open minded is necessary.

I also own a Guesthouse and Hostel in Bhaktapur. (For now.. Accomodation will be at the hostel or guesthouse depending on availability.. lodging is 2km from the farm.. untill the lodge and facilities are built) This is also a nice opportunity to meet other travellers while still making your trip in Nepal a meaningful experience.

We are very easy going, we don't like to add pressure or stress to ourselves or others but we love the satisfaction of completing a task. Being healthy and happy always come first.

We are sharing our life with our volunteers, therefore we always make a video call to know each other better before we meet in person.

Saturday is a holiday in Nepal so we want you to relax...
If im free i like to join and do activities with the volunteers and guests.
We know a few places that play live music, sometimes we meet for jamming sessions with the locals. We enjoy BBQ nights, movie nights in our cinema room, board and card games, group adventures around the valley. Visiting other farms and local community projects. We love to go out for dinner sometimes in local restaurants. Drink tea at a local shop and enjoy night/day walks around the old city. Although we are not party animals we do enjoy a beer in evening, sitting around the fire, having a laugh, usually we will wind down by 10pm.
There are many cool towns and villages nearby to visit. Pleanty of nature, viewpoints, waterfalls, temples, forests and day hikes. Thamel is 40mins-1hour away.

There are workshops and classes in Bhaktapur like Thanka Painting , Pottery, Wood carving, Yoga and Meditation.. etc.
This is your holiday too and we want you to enjoy the experience while staying with us.

Nepal is a developing country. We love to say welcome to Nepal, its an exciting and completely different life to maybe the one you are used to. A few things to consider before embarking on this adventurous journey... the wether in Nepal changes drastically, from the hot and wet monsoon season, to the dry cold winters, each season has its perks, but, (like all places in Nepal) we don't have heating and cooling systems, but we have extra blankets, fans in the rooms, a movie room for those rainy days and a cosy fire outside. There are power cuts (sometimes) usually it will come back on after 1 hour. Our water supply also gets delivered once a month, please be very mindful when using the water. Sometimes the water can run out and we need to wait to re-fill the tanks.
