  Hello!
  We are a family of four with a lovely dog named Esme. We live in the beautiful Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. We are lucky to live nestled between both mountains and ocean and also have fresh water rivers and lakes close by too. It truly is a natural paradise here. There is a ski resort 40 minutes from where we live called Mount Washington and ten minutes away is a charming town called Cumberland with over 700 mountain bike trails!
  
  We are looking for someone who enjoys young children and wouldn’t mind helping along side me (the mum!) with two boys. Janek is 21 months old and Lukas is 8 months old. We are looking for someone to help with the children on Tuesday and Thursdays and during the mornings Monday-Friday. I will always be present, I just need a helping hand as both kids are quite young and need a lot of attention! We have a guest room on the other side of the house from our bedrooms and we also live very centrally located to all amenities.

  The Comox Valley is a community made up of three towns - Comox, Courtenay and Cumberland. Each have their own flavour and offerings of events and culture. We are also in an area rich with history of the indigenous peoples of this area, the K’omoks First Nations. We are also in a haven of outdoor activities - hiking, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, mountain biking, trail running, dirt biking, surfing, mountaineering in strathcona park, there are endless beautiful landscapes to do many different outdoor activities here! My partner is also Czech and Polish and would happily teach you those languages if you’re interested.

  Aide

  We are looking for someone who would help us out with our children. It would be on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s and two hours in the morning on Monday/Wednesday/Friday. You won’t be left alone with the kids very often, this is a ‘mother’s helper’ role. Our days are quite simple and straightforward- we take a lot of forest walks, go to the beach, walks around the neighbourhood otherwise we’re at home, making food or hanging out. Our children are young - 21 months and 8 months old so require quite a bit of care and things go much smoother with two sets of hands!

  Hébergement

  We offer a guest room on the other side of the house from the main bedrooms. It has two large windows, a queen size bed and shelving in the closet. It also has a desk, lamp and overhead lighting. We live on a very quiet street close to downtown and all amenities. We have a large backyard we love to spend time in the summer. We also have a car and bike you’re able to borrow.
  We love sharing our food and love to cook! My partner is mostly vegan and strictly vegetarian but we also cook and eat meat (the rest of us). We would love to eat dinner together and you’re welcome to put together your breakfast and lunch. We eat healthy, lots of veggies, salads and meat from local farms.
  
  We eat simply but with fresh food and almost everything from scratch! I make three meals per day that you’re welcome to enjoy also. For breakfast we eat cereal, fruit, yogurt, eggs, French toast, pancakes or bread with spreads. For lunch we often have leftovers from the dinner from the previous night, otherwise sandwiches or breads and spreads etc. For dinner we make a variety of meals - stir fries, roasted root vegetables, homemade beef and veggie burgers, lasagna, pasta sauce from scratch, meatballs, ramen, tacos..the list is endless. We enjoy tasty food :)
  We LOVE fermented foods and often pickle our own vegetables and kraut. My partner is a long time vegan/strict vegetarian and makes the most comforting hearty soups and salads, vegan spreads from beans and tofu. If you think vegan food is boring, he may change your mind :) We do eat meat in the house too, all from a butcher in town with meat from the local area. You are also welcome to enjoy snacks and baking we make also.

  Esme (6 ans)

  Large shepherd mix. Lovely dog who gets along well with most dogs (if friendly) and adults too. She is learning to tolerate kids! She loves hikes and exploring off leash. She only barks at the mail carrier and is otherwise quiet and very calm and good natured.
