We are an English centre situated in the Andean city of Latacunga with an extraordinary view of the Cotopaxi Volcano likewise, It is located downtown and easily accessed, founded in 2008, Our staff offers a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to our students, ranging from kids age 5, teens and adults. Eager to learn the language in a fun and practical way.
We are seeking charismatic volunteers who want to make a positive impact on our students' learning by engaging them in meaningful conversations. All you need to do is come and share your experiences with our students.

Aide
We are actively seeking fluent English speakers to join our team and assist our students in enhancing their speaking skills through engaging conversation practice. We value individuals who are patient, enthusiastic, and enjoy working with people of all ages. The volunteering commitment entails four sessions per week, with each session lasting four hours. Morning and afternoon shifts are available, and we are flexible with split schedules to accommodate your availability. Upon your arrival, we can arrange a meeting to discuss further details and make suitable arrangements.

In Latacunga and its surroundings, there are plenty of exciting activities to enjoy. Start your adventure by exploring the historic center of Latacunga, with its beautiful colonial architecture and charming streets. Visit the Casa de los Marqueses de Miraflores, a historical mansion turned into a museum. Head to the Mercado Central to immerse yourself in the local culture, sample traditional food like “Chugchucaras” if you are a pork meat lover, “allullas con queso de hoja” a flat, crunchy bread and other tasty dishes, vegan food is also available, we have such a variety of vegetables and fruits you'll love, likewise, check out the colorful handicrafts. Then go to “La Laguna Park” a beautiful recreational area that offers a lovely environment for visitors to enjoy. The park is centered around a tranquil lagoon, It provides a perfect setting for leisurely walks, picnics, and relaxation also, rent paddleboats to explore the lagoon or simply sit by the water's edge and admire the scenic views. The park also features playgrounds for children, sports fields, and walking paths for exercise enthusiasts.
For nature lovers, hike the Cotopaxi Volcano, an active volcano with stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. Don't miss a trip to Quilotoa, a volcanic crater lake renowned for its turquoise waters. Explore the hiking trails around the lake and capture stunning photos. If you're up for adventure, try mountain biking or horseback riding in Cotopaxi National Park, where you can witness diverse flora and fauna. Visit Yambo Lake close by, visitors can enjoy various activities such as boating, fishing, and picnics by the lake's shore. Yambo Lake is also a popular spot for birdwatching, with a variety of bird species found in the area and many more exciting places.

Veronica was a wonderful host! The apartment has everything you could want to spend a few weeks in Latacunga, and the school work puts you in a perfect position to learn what it's like growing up in the province of Cotopaxi. Words can't truly describe how wonderful this experience was. Vero and her family welcomed us with open arms from day one, as did Latacunga. The indigenous people, the friendly local shops, and the high-mountain cooler climate really made for a unique and worthwhile adventure.

My partner and I spent 2 weeks volunteering here at Vero's language school. We loved our little apartment in town (about 90s from the school) and we were able to do the Quilatoa Loop on our weekend off. It was difficult at times when we were alone with the kids, but overall we enjoyed our time and would recommend the experience!

The experience was great, Veronica was very accommodating and helpful, the ~16hrs work per week was fair and fun, and the accommodations were quite nice.
