    Description

Hi, I'm Génesis, born and raised in Puerto Rico. I am one of so many displaced Puerto Ricans after the catastrophic hurricanes in 2017. I used to have one of the most popular hostels in San Juan but I was forced to close it down, because I don't own a property, and the place was technically uninhabitable.

The hurricanes were a curse and a blessing, to me, because even though they caused what we all know, a lot of disaster, a collective crisis, etc., it literally pushed me to find myself again. As part of this healing process, I decided to leave the city of San Juan and move to the east side of Puerto Rico.

From 2020 to 2025, I lived in Luquillo, Puerto Rico. Living in between the beach and the rainforest helped me connect with nature, and find myself in ways I never expected.

My life has improved dramatically over the years. I have more energy, I enjoy working out, walking my dogs, and exploring new places in Puerto Rico.

While I did everything I told you, I also rescued over 20 dogs since 2014. Something I picked up from my twin sister. Without knowing, I became very good at rescuing dogs, but it's not easy. Right now I have 3 permanent residents and I'm fostering my latest rescue. That's a total of 4 doggies. Which you can see in the pictures.

Right now Puerto Rico suffers from a fast growing gentrification, caused by ACT 22, a tax break for rich people. This has increased the rent and the price of property dramatically in the last 4 years making it impossible for us locals to buy at a fair price.

I got "lucky" and I'm renting a beautiful house in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, minutes away from the beach and the rainforest by car. The house has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, living room and laundry area. I also have a tropica garden with trees and herbs. We can buy groceries and plan meals together. I am a great cook and can teach you about Puerto Rican cuisine.

My dogs are very social and educated and are excited to meet you!

    Can you help us? ^_^

    Extra info about me:

    - In 2011 I completed a bachelor's degree in Humanities at UPRC. I studied arts, languages, philosophy, history, and interdisciplinary studies. I also I completed exchange studies in Málaga, Spain from 2010-2011.
    - In 2019 I completed a master's degree in Translation Studies at UPRRP.
    - In 2020 I completed a master's degree in Cultural Entrepreneurship at UPRRP.
    - In 2020 the pandemic started and I decide to move to Luquillo, Puerto Rico tired of the city life.
    - 2020-2024 I lost 60 pounds in 4 years.
    - 2025 In September 2025, I moved to Fajardo, Puerto Rico. The best option I could find in a short time and thankfully accepted me and my four dogs.

I am looking for happy energetic people. If you are looking for peacefulness, mindfulness, healing, or just a place to get away from the city life and connect with nature and yourself, this is the place. I look forward to meeting you!

    Transportation info:

Transportation can be tricky out here. I highly recommend renting a car so you can explore the island better. I can make recommendations on where to go and eat in PR. If you can't rent, the second best option is Uber. A trip from SJ to Fajardo costs between 35 and 50 dollars. Once you are here, it is a short ride to the beach, downtown, rainforest (between 5 and 15 dollars). Public transportation is almost non-existant, very unreliable.

Gracias por tu atención y apoyo. 💗
