  Description

  My name is Rachel.
  I have been working to build my future home in the Caribbean!
  Right now, the priority projects I need help with are taking care of and leveling the yard and getting the rocks out, sanding, and painting!
  I look forward to hosting someone who can help and be independent and dependable! Trading work help for your time on this Caribbean island, a scuba and snorkeling paradise, is my desire! I have several bicycles that can be used to get around the island. I only ask that you keep the bicycles inside when not in use so there's less exposure to salt water. FYI it is an uphill bike ride from the home, mostly low grade up...

  You would be a one minute walk from the Caribbean ocean where you can snorkel and become familiar with the sea life here. There are so many dive shops here (12 minute tuk tuk ride to those) as well as freediving! Utila has so much history. Between the pirate history, local folklore, and diverse cultural history, you just can't go wrong!
  BICA is very active with saving turtles. You can become involved with them and help them with the turtles at the beach nearby.

  Currently we are working on painting the exterior first floor which has concrete walls!
  
  I would love to find someone who does not mind getting dirty. My yard is rolling mounds of dirt. I'd love to get it looking pretty with local vegetation. A food garden is what I prefer! Tropical and Caribbean! There will be guidance from the local person who is planning my yard layout!
  
  I also have a few woodworking projects in mind. Shelves and cabinets etc that need to be built. Plus a few things that I shipped over for the kitchen that need to be built.
  
  Gutters save my rain water. There is a triple reverse osmosis filtration system in the home.

  I have a private two bedroom apartment with a queen bed in one bedroom and a king queen bunkbed in the other. This apartment is on the first floor. There is a bathroom with a shower (hot water). There is a possibility that the second bedroom will be occupied by another workaway person or couple. Couples who share a room are also welcome as long as they understand there might be someone in the second bedroom at the same time.
  
  The kitchen has all of the basics... Pots, pans, dishes, sink, stove, refrigerator, and microwave.
  There is a shared washing machine at the property. No dryer as it's not needed. We hang our laundry to dry.
  There is no TV. I do have Starlink Wi-Fi.
  I would prefer someone who can supply their own food as I travel for work and may not be here.

  My home is on the part of the island where it's a 12 minute drive to town on a golf cart. So it's a bit of a walk. However there is one bar and one restaurant approximately one block from me and a grocery store about a third of a mile walk or so. This is a brand new home that still has some building detail going on. The attached home next to yours will soon be getting painted on the exterior. I have four shared bicycles that can be included if you need. I only ask that you respectfully keep bicycles inside when not in use.

  Dogs that are not incessant barkers are ok. Your dog must get along with other dogs! Please be kind and pick up after your dog right away when they go outside! There are several dogs in the neighborhood who sometimes wander so your dog should be able to get along with other dogs! This is not a fenced yard.
