Description
My name is Joshua and live in Dos Brazos de Rio Tigre in the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica, 12 km from Puerto Jimenez the gateway to Corcovado National Park where the jungle meets the ocean. The property is comprised of 2.5 acres (1 hectare) with cabins and gardens.
The small town of Dos Brazos borders the world renowned Corcovado NP, the reason I came to Costa Rica years ago. It is an old gold mining town off the beaten path set in the rainforest. There is no real store, restaurant or place to hang out except the school soccer field or in nature. There is satellite internet for all communication and a small van/buseta that goes to Puerto Jimenez twice a day for your personal needs.
Regarding volunteering: A single person, couple, or friends traveling together would be the ideal situation. Staying by yourself can get a little boring and solitary after a couple weeks. Couples and friends have been well suited for our isolated little town but volunteers who require more stimulation and interaction unfortunately do not have the desired experience. 1 month minimum stay.

We are located on the border of one of the most biodiverse places on the planet, Corcovado National Park, in the Osa peninsula of Costa Rica. IF you like nature and being off the beating path you will be pleasantly surprised waking up to the birds in the morning and going to bed listening to the frogs and insects chirping.

Aide
Position 1: Gardening/cleaning/property maintenance. There is plenty of gardening/maintenance to do all year round. Gardening is not for everyone but very rewarding. The buildings need to be cleaned once a week .
FOOD
We purchase the food or provide a stipend and you prepare your own meals. We share food when available.
For example:
Breakfast: Eggs, toast with jelly or peanut butter, and fresh fruits. Juice, Coffee or tea.
Lunch - your on your own
Dinner - Rice and Beans/ veggies/ meat and fish when available

The primary volunteer sleeping area is located 350 meters from the main property where the business is located. This property consists of 3 open-air cabins with a shared octagonal building and gardens that may be shared with other volunteers/guests. Couples/friends will have their own cabin, individual volunteers may share a cabin. The octagonal building has two shared baths, two shared toilets and sinks. There is not a formal kitchen, but there is a sink, counter space, kettle, hot plate and utensils for basic food preparation. There is a more formal kitchen at the main property that is shared with guests. On some occasions volunteers will stay at main property in private room with shared baths and kitchen. Place of accommodation is based upon open spaces and guest reservations.

The bus from San Jose to Puerto Jimenez is 7/8 hours, then taxi/collectivo from Puerto Jimenez to Dos Brazos de Rio Tigre is a 20 minute drive. I am often in Puerto Jimenez and available to pick you up.
Please purchase all personal food items and supplies you will need prior to arriving. Drinking water is in Dos Brazos is very clean and safe to drink.
I highly advise you to research the Osa peninsula, Puerto Jimenez, Corcovado NP, and specifically our town Dos Brazos de Rio Tigre. -

We have Starlink satellite service. The internet is average for first world standards but more than adequate. Download speed is normal but not for digital nomads who upload data.
