    Description

    Hello dear ones,

We are Kiki (22) and Mo (38). Together with our three cats Eugen, Mira and Frieda and our two dogs Lausi and Lea, we are living a simple life on a small finca on the edge of the natural park dels Ports.

Mo, who is actually a photographer, is now more of an olive farmer and Kiki, a communication psychologist, you'll find most of the time crafting, working in the garden or in front of her laptop, trying to make some money :)

We were traveling for several years before we found each other and this wonderful place, and now we just want to grow old and happy here ;)

There are about 500 olive trees, almond trees, carob trees, fruit trees, endless rosemary and thyme bushes on 2,5h here. The landscape here is incredibly beautiful and quiet, there are hardly any neighbours and sometimes you don't see a person for days.

The mountains start right at the house and the sea is about 45 minutes away.

The nearest town (Tortosa) is about 20 minutes away and Barcelona is about 2 hours away.

In the past, with the help of friends and workawayers, we have already cut and trimmed most of the overgrown trees, rebuilt some retaining walls and painted the house. We built two composting toilets and two outdoor panoramic showers, you won't want to shower anywhere else.... :)

In the last few years we have planted some beds and we enjoy the vegetables, this year we want to try some more, change things and apply first lessons learned, because the wind here and the summer heat are a real challenge.

From October the olive trees are pruned and the terraces are cut free, and a little later follows the olive harvest.

Please note that the finca is a naturism friendly place. Those who want to are naked. Those who don't want to are not naked. We are not naked all day or every day and we don't ask you to be, don't worry. If you have any questions about this topic, bring it on! :)

We have chosen a place far from the hustle and bustle, but we still like to have lovely people with whom we share our time, the evenings can be longer, but of course we take into account the needs of our guests. Please write the word "Covalta" in your request so that we know you have read this text.

You can learn about the cultivation and harvesting of olives and other plants found here (e.g. figs and almonds) and about the simple lifestyle on a spanish finca :)
We would be happy to show you the medieval town of Tortosa and the surroundings of our beautiful home.
You can hike into the nature reserve (with springs, waterfalls and nature pools) directly from the house. We recommend a hike to Caramella or can help you discover the secrets of Covalta.

There’s a growing community of like-minded people in this area, and over time, it has blossomed into something really special. Sometimes there are plenty of gatherings and events happening, while at other times, things are quiet and peaceful — which we truly enjoy as well. It would be great if you're comfortable with both dynamics, or if you're someone who can look out for and fulfill their own needs.

In general, there are always trees to cut free, prunings to burn (from about November to about March), terraces to mow, dry stone walls to build, vegetable beds to weed and nature to tame a little :)

Here are a few specific areas where we’d really appreciate your help:

    - If you have experience with permaculture or gardening, we’d love your input on improving our vegetable garden and caring for our fruit trees.
    - If you're handy with wood, there are always small and larger woodworking projects waiting to be brought to life.
    - Animal lovers that give our dogs and cats some caring attention are very welcome.
    - We’re also happy to welcome artistic souls and creative minds who feel inspired to help create our spaces — whether through design ideas, painting, or any other kind of creative expression and brainstorming.

If any of this sounds like a good fit for you but you’re short on time, feel free to reach out — we’re open to shorter stays too if it's a really good match.

  • Hébergement

    Hébergement

We offer a small, beautifully built guest house with wood-burning stove, a sleeping gallery and cozy seating. On the sleeping gallery is a double bed, but there is also room for folding mattresses or sleeping mats, so if you want more people could be accommodated.

The dry toilet is close by, the panoramic shower is not far away, if you prefer warm water in the colder season you can of course take a warm shower in our house.

Additionally there is a guest bed on a sleeping gallery in the dining room.

If you come by van, we have some nice pitches with a view of the nature park.

There is a kitchen in the guest house, you can use it or we can eat and cook together in our house - in either case we would like to be very mindful of our facilities 😊

We have decided to provide only the accommodation and want to ask our guests to participate in the food shopping. In return we expect a reduced working time of only 2h a day.

For larger projects that require more work time, we can make other individual arrangements. Don't be shy, just tell us what you need, want and offer!

    Lea

We adopted Lea, a Podenco mix, at the beginning of this year. She’s an incredibly sweet and gentle soul, even if she’s still learning the ropes. While she’s quite independent by nature, she also loves being around people.

    Lausi

Lausi, a Whippet, is Kiki’s dog and has been by her side for the past nine years. He’s a very affectionate and active soul, but unfortunately, he had an accident recently and is now paralyzed, requiring special care and attention. If you have any experience with physiotherapy or caring for dogs with disabilities, we’d love to hear from you.
