Description
**Looking for a couple or pair of friends to help out on the farm over the summer. Jobs are varied, depending on your skills and likes, but can include building, gardening, woodwork, house-keeping and occasionally house-sitting**
Hello there! I am looking for volunteers with lots of drive, energy and common sense who can work independently and who have a love of adventure, nature and the outdoors to work alongside us or work on independent mini projects that include building, gardening, painting, home help, animal care etc...
We have a beautiful, rural, two-hectare organic finca near the Spanish town of La Codosera but bordering the Portuguese nature reserve of the Serra Sâo Mamede. We are steadily transforming our land using permaculture practises and would love to swap and share knowledge and best practice with you :)
Our ideal volunteers would:
- be happy to live off the beaten track (although we do have a restaurant/bar a few kms down the road)
- be animal lovers - especially dogs and cats
- help with approximately 4 hours of tasks 5 days a week (and the possibility of additional paid work depending on skills)
We work hard for those 4 hours but what we offer in exchange for your help:
- comfortable beds in our cozy caravan or a room in the house
- all meals
- laughs
- relaxation
- freshwater swimming pool (May-Oct only)
- tonnes of films, books, music
- beautiful nature and gorgeous walks from our door
- internet access
- company (if you want it) or peace and quiet (if you don't) :)

We love to share ideas and recipes and have picked up so much great knowledge from previous volunteers...
Although we are off the beaten track, we have bikes so you can get to local sites and we will always take you to any local festivals that are going on while you are here (and there are lots!!) -
Aide
We need help with all sorts of tasks in the garden, and around the house - the tasks you do depend on your preferences and/skills. We all work really hard - please don't apply if you are looking for a cheap holiday! - but it's rewarding to share the experience and our volunteers return to us again and again and send their friends and family to volunteer with us too!

Becky and Martin are wonderful people and very hospitable. Much of what we at came directly from what was grown on the farm. In addition we got to explore Marvao and Elvas.
