  Hello Workawayers!
  
  We are Francis and Helen, originally from the UK, we took on this rambling masia over 24 years ago in order to find a gentler , friendlier, more cultural and more peaceful way of life. Our Masia and finca is definitely for country lovers only! But it is only 15 mins from Figueres, Girona county. Our area is rich in every kind of visitor attractions. We are just 20 mins from the Surrealism and other Art Museums around Figueres and 30 mins from the Bay of Roses, the Pyrenees, Medieval Girona, Banyoles Olympic Lake & France. Both Girona and Barcelona are easy day trips by bus or train. Figueres and especially Girona, a big University town are buzzing with all sorts of free attractions such as Bands, Dance, Art, Festivals , International food and Meet Ups and much more. The recent influx of US and international residents has resulted in wide variety of cultural activities in English.

  We live in a heritage location where many films about idyllic settings have been made. The latest is the film "Brava" by Roser Aguilar, see on youtu.be/6M7kbgOX3FY?si=BC4d5i--zS2w42Gu is about a single women seeking a refuge in "an idyllic rural retreat" here after being mugged in Barcelona. So , of course they made it here.
  
  Here they say that in Autumn and Spring you can go skiing in the mountains in the morning and sun bathe on the beach in the afternoon.....And it´s true!
  
  Want to share your skills in a tranquil location in the countryside near the beautiful Costa Brava coast with fabulous wild beaches or the majestic Pyrenees and it´s wildlife? Or Banyoles Olympic lake? Also to enjoy the leisure facilities of a Country hotel; Pool, Tennis, Boules, BBQ, Laundry and with country trials and mountains bkie routes right on your doorstep over, hills, rivers, forests and near lakes and mountains?
  
  Join us! In the spring and autumn here ( if you have transport) you could go skiing in the morning and sunbathe the afternoon on the beach!. Our winters are mild and usually sunny, we're surrounded by woods and fields, so it is very sheltered, with protected wildlife, With views of majestic snow capped mountains and unpolluted skies - wonderful for stargazing!
  
  You can experience the natural beauty of place and its surroundings on your doorstep without transport .There are buses and trains nearby nearby so you can visit the Costa Brava, medieval Girona, France and Barcelona. But to really experience our region and its attractions you need transport. If you have a camper van, we can give you a parking space,
  by the workawayer house.
  
  We have 7000m2 of gardens for you to unwind in or to, swim, play tennis , meditate or talk to the animals in! Alternativley, there are paths and trails through forests, hills and fields right on your doorstep.
  
  We are experienced hosts, we know how to help you if you need it. We offer flexible stays. Currently we only have a small one room house for you to stay in ( see pics) with goats and donkeys to wish you good morning! But it does have a woodstove and a dishwasher! We also have caravans and camping facilities
  
  ****** please note that at the moment, sadly, there may not be a group of Workawayers to socialise with here, due work expanding our Workaway accommodations,
  
  AT THE MOMENT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
  
  ****** Strong willing people with experience of working unsupervised . We use two work models either for only 15 hours per week or for 25 hours per week. We are usually very flexible e.g. for days off making up the time later. Our jobs include:
  
  *******house, garden and farm, maintenance tasks (to choose from)
  
  *******Help with gardening, painting, clearing up and small cleaning jobs.
  
  +++++small tasks, e.g. stapling Fly screens, sanding sticking doors or windows, small repairs to fences, painting, changing door handles, clearing up, wood and timber repairs, planting a couple of trees , hard landscaping etc.
  
  ******** Music Software; from time to time we may need help with I.T. sorting out Music Files, Apps,Software etc... or graphics and design and editing on my music website. Also if you are a confident singer and can send us one or two recordings of your songs in folk or certain modern genres, or if you can do music notation transcriptions of my songs by ear form audio, let us know!
  
  WHAT WE OFFER YOU
  Accommodation in a small one roomed studio for up to two- (see pics ) or a caravan both with external shower room, kitchen ,hot and cold water and use of wifi in return for 15-25 hours a week of help. We also have Camper Van facilities. Occasionally Workawayers use one of our tourist houses if they are not booked ( this is usually outside of of spring and summer holidays.) Usually we are flexible on free time. We offer another option of only 3 hours help per day in return for accommodation only.
  
  We are multilingual, experienced & supportive (top rated) hosts, with personal experience of volunteering ourselves. We try to be helpful, flexible and to share this exciting Catalunya adventure!

  In both here and in our area we enjoy both Workawayers and Visitors from all over the world with Workawayers from far and wide from Finland to Hawaii and New Zealand and from Patagonia, Peru to Iceland....we have much experience in facilitating a warm and friendly atmosphere and we do everything we possibly can to help Workawayers access the myriad of visitor cultural and natural attractions all around us.
  Of course nature walks, cycling and hiking are right on your doorstep here. Our area is rich in fiestas, arts and events going on here we do everything we can to involve Workawayers and to give them real cultural interchange....
  Recently, there has been a huge influx of American Citizens looking for higher quality of life, clean air, mountains and sea and a world leading culture, their input results in much attactions in english...See our reviews from Happy Workawayers !!

  Hébergement

  We have a small rustic house, good for two people.It is light and sunny with a kitchen, woodstove, and dishwasher, with outside bathroom. If not, we also have a caravan. Both with separate shower/bathroom with hot and cold running water. We provide you with money or food to cook yourself.
  
  We have great facilities - animals, tennis, outdoor swimming pool, boules, a large and light filled room next to the pool which is great for yoga, meditation and just chilling when you want a change from being in the open air. Free laundry facilities. 20 min walk to a local village/bus, and we can give you lifts to the nearest town, Figueres which has good public transport links to Girona, Barcelona, France, the coast and inland towns in the Pyrenees.

  Our area is rich in culture and visitor attractions. We are just 15 mins from Surrealism centre Figueres and 30 mins from the Bay of Roses, the Pyrenees, Medieval Girona, Banyoles Olympic Lake and France.
  
  Approx 55 mins to Barcelona by train. Our winters are mild and sunny, we're surrounded by woods and fields, so it is very sheltered, with incredible wildlife and unpolluted skies - wonderful for stargazing.
  
  Set in extensive gardens with Romansque Medieval church, swimming pool, tennis, table tennis, boules, BBQ, hammocks, wifi and club house. Surrounded by woods and hills, near the Pyrenees yet close to mediterranean beaches and bays.
  
  Also the walks and ski stations of the Pyrenees. There are horses, goats, dogs, cats and a pig. It is an environment rich in flora & fauna and natural beauty. You may meet some amazing people here - visitors/friends from Barcelona and also all over the world.
  
  However, there are also quiet times too and always space to find your own peace & quiet. Our place is known for its peace & tranquility.
  
  We are exclusively a Workawayer Exchange programme and we support all Workaway aims, objectives and guidelines.

  Wifi is avaiable fron the Workaway Small house. Quality varies sometimes according to the make (cost?) of your phone. There is a also a Wifi workstation in out big Pool House. Mobile is via sweet spots and the ability of your mobile. But is it always OK just outside the garden.

On your doorstep; footpaths over hills, rivers, mountains , fields and meadows. A national mountain bike route with horse riding and bike hire locally. Other mountain sports.

  Yes, well behaved discussed in advance. dogs must be on lead within the finca because there are always loose cats around.
