Description
Hei!
We are a Swiss-Norwegian family of four living in Bærum, Norway, in the countryside outside of Oslo. Both my husband and I have previously done volunteer work abroad and spent lots of time traveling and getting to know different cultures. We are excited to give the same experience to other people, while getting to know all of the beauty that Norway has to offer. Despite us living a bit outside of the city and close to nature we have a direct bus right by our house that gets you into Oslo city center within 35 minutes.
At home, we speak English, Norwegian and German with the kids (ages 4 and 1), so if you like to practice any of these languages, we're happy to host you! We are a very outdoorsy family and spend lot's of time outdoors going to the lake, beach, mountains and lots of different playgrounds.
As a family with 2 young kids life can get a bit hectic and we'd appreciate a helping hand with various task. For example: garden work/projects, batch meal prep, cleaning and general help around the house. This shouldn't take up too much time, maybe around 2 hours a day. We'd like to host people for 1-3 weeks at a time.
You will have your own floor with a private bedroom and a bathroom. We always eat breakfast and dinner as a family and you are more than welcome to join us at the table :) If you prefer to cook your own food and eat at different times that is completely fine with us as well - whatever works for you! Over the next few months one of us is home with our 1 year old until he starts daycare, and the other one often does home office so the house in generally lively and someone's around.
With 2 young kids, the day starts early so we are up and in the kitchen by 6am.You are under no expectation to have to get up that early, but it is worth mentioning that you will most likely hear us, so if you prefer to sleep in and not be disturbed until 9am this probably isn't the spot for you :D
We are looking forward to hearing from you and getting to know you a bit better, so please feel free to message us at anytime. -
