  Description

  My name is Gloria, I am 59 years old and have three daughters. I have been a single mother and the head of my family. I was born into a family of 12 siblings, 8 brothers and 4 sisters. My parents were farmers, both deceased. We have a tradition on this farm that spans more than 100 years. Pijao, Quindío, Colombia, is a town nestled among mountains, known as the most beautiful town in Quindío, and categorized as a slow city in South America. The film "Memories," nominated for an international film award and starring Tilda Srrington, was filmed here.
  
  Our farm is 25 minutes from this town. To get here from Bogotá, you can take a flight to Armenia (1 hour) or a 9-hour bus ride. From Armenia, the capital of Quindío, you take a minibus to Pijao, and once in town, you board a jeep that takes you to the Los Juanes hamlet, at the El Porvenir farm.
  
  
  Our family has a farming background, and currently, there are three of us who own the farm, as I bought out my siblings' shares. I don't live on the farm at the moment because I have to work elsewhere to earn money to pay the workers and buy food and all the necessary supplies. We have coffee crops, and we are processing excellent quality coffee on the farm, known for its flavor and aroma. The new project, a cafe, is being managed by my daughter Andrea and her boyfriend, who spend most of their time there because they work elsewhere to support themselves, as the farm is not yet in full production. Our greatest desire is the preservation of nature, water conservation, and the appreciation of the landscape. Our water resources, diverse trails, and forest reserve are our greatest assets.
  
  On the farm, we produce coffee, plantains, and bananas, which are taken to the market in town to be sold. Sometimes they are roasted and sold by the pound for consumption. We welcome volunteers to share the beauty of the place and to welcome their invaluable help, skills, and positive attitudes. We are interested in people with a strong sense of service and a desire to learn and experience something unique in a wonderful location. We hope to meet people with a positive attitude who appreciate the simple and beautiful things in life.
  Volunteers will not be required to serve food or drinks for sale, as I understand that doing so is work that should be paid.
  
  We had a foundation whose objective was the protection and conservation of the environment and raising awareness among children about the proper use of natural resources. We carried out work in several municipalities in Quindío, but it had to be discontinued due to numerous requirements that consumed both time and money. However, we remain committed to serving the community.
  
  The assistance requested consists of individuals who are able to live in the countryside in a traditional coffee farm house and who have an affinity for and desire to contribute in the following areas:
  Landscape architecture
  Rustic wood construction
  Trail construction
  Planning and utilization of the natural landscape
  Reforestation
  Water and forest conservation
  Maintenance of wood structures
  Gardening
  Daily farm work
  Hospitality and culinary consulting
  Our objective is to transform the coffee farm into a tourist destination, making use of its historic facilities and landscape.

  Soy Gloria, tengo 59 años y tres hijas y he sido madre cabeza de hogar y lider de la familia. Nací en una familia de 12 hermanos, 8 hombres y 4 mujeres, mi madre y padre campesinos ya fallecidos, tenemos una tradición en esta finca de mas de 100 años. Pijao Quindío Colombia, pueblo enclavado entre montañas nombrado como el PUEBLO MAS LINDO DEL QUINDIO, categorizado como ciudad lenta de sur América. En este pueblo se grabo la película Memorias, nominada a un premio internacional de cine, cuya protagonista es TILDA SWINGTON.
  Nuestra finca queda a 25 minutos de este pueblo. Para llegar desde Bogotá se toma un vuelo a Armenia son 1 hora o 9 horas en un bus y luego en Armenia, capital del Quindío, se toma una buseta a Pijao y estando en el pueblo se aborda un jeep y lo lleva a la vereda los juanes, finca el Porvenir.
  
  Nuestra familia es de origen campesino, a la fecha somo tres (3) las propietarias de la finca ya que compre la parte a mis otros hermanos. A la fecha no vivo en la finca pues debo trabajar afuera para ganar dinero y poder pagar los trabajadores y comprras comida y todos los insumos requeridos. Tenemos cultivos de cafe y se esta procesando cafe en la finca de excelente calidad, por su sabor y aroma. El nuevo proyecto, un café, se encuentra a cargo de Andrea mi hija y su novio, quienes mantienen alli la mayor parte del tiempo porque laboran en otros lugares para poderse generar su manutencion, ya que la finca aun no esta en produccion en un 100% . Nuestro gran deseo es la preservacion de la naturaleza, siembra de agua y el aprovechamiento del paisaje , nuestro recurso hídrico, diversidad de senderos y reserva forestal son nuestra mayor riqueza.
  
  En la finca se produce cafe, platano, banano y se lleva al mercado en el pueblo para ofrecerlo y otra veces se tuesta y se vende por libras para el consumo. El hecho de recibir voluntarios es con el fin de compartir la blleza del lugar y aceptar su gran ayuda, sus capacidades y actitudes. Nos interesan personas con un gran sentido del servicio y ganas de aprender, de vivir una experiencia unica en un lugar maravilloso, deseamos encontrarnos con personas que tengan buena actitud y que sepan disfrutar lo simple y bello.
  Los voluntarios no tendrán que servir comidas, ni bebidas para vender, pues comprendo que de hacerlo esta actividad es un trabajo que debe ser pagado.
  
  Tuvimos una fundación cuyo como objetivo era la protección y conservación del medio ambiente, hacer conciencia en los niños para el uso adecuado de los recursos naturales. Desarrollar labores en varios municipios del Quindio, pero tuvo que ser cancelada por tantos requisitos que nos quitan tiempo y dinero. Pero seguimos estando alertas a servir y a toda la comunidad.

  This place is at 1,650 thousand above sea level, it has a beautiful view from there you can see the valley of the Cauca. The farm is located in the la mariela village of the municipality of pijao, department of Quindio Colombia.
  Fidelina and her husband Hector live in the farm at the time. And Pedro Luis, both brothers, who work in the fields, Fidelina is my younger sister and she suffers from SYSTEMIC LUPUS HERITOMATOSUS, a disease that often prevents her from doing physical activity due to her severe rheumatic pains, which affect her entire body. they love that place. That is why they need support and people to help in all the work of the farm.
  
  Necesitamos ayuda de personas disciplinadas con varios conocimientos, para crear, hacer y construir un sueño en el campo. Nuestro proyecto consiste en turismo ecológico, solicito ayuda para la construcción de un mirador turístico en madera rustica y un kiosko, construcción de senderos, siembra de jardines, colaboración en el mantenimiento de la casa, en fin es muchas labores en el campo para poder crear un sitio turístico en donde se pueda aprovechar el turismo y generar recursos para el sostenimiento de la finca, sus cultivos y la manutención de trabajadores.
  Este lugar esta a mil 1.650 sobre el nivel del mar tiene una vista preciosa de allí se ve el valle del cauca. La finca esta ubicada en la vereda la mariela del municipio de pijao, departamento del Quindio Colombia.
  En la finca habita en el momento Fidelina y su esposo Hector. Y Pedro Luis, ambos hermanos, quienes se dedican a labores del campo, Fidelina es mi hermana menor y sufre LUPUS HERITOMATOSO SISTEMICO una enfermedad que le impide muchas veces hacer actividad física por sus fuertes dolores reumáticos, que afectan todo su cuerpo. ellos aman ese lugar. Por eso necesitan apoyo y personas que ayuden en todas las labores de la finca.

Para los ayudantes turistas tenemos un cuarto de la casa donde hay cuatro camas, pueden guardas allí todas sus cosas con seguridad, tienen acceso a un baño compartido y a todas las otras instalaciones de la casa. Sala, cocina, corredores. No hay internet pero de ser necesario se compartiran los datos o se compra internet,
