    Available dates:

    7-18 October 2026

Please remember that we ask you to come at least 4 days early, so Wicca can get used to you and we can go over everything regarding her medication. If you need to arrive a few days early or stay a few days later than agreed, due to transport prices or any other reason, that won't be a problem at all!

    Most likely 23-31 January 2027

    ----

We might have a last-minute trip organized on short notice — if you’re interested, feel free to contact us!
That way, we’ll contact you before looking for someone else. :)

Contact us only if you have experience with cats.

We are a couple (David (44) and Joana (40)) with one cat and looking for someone to look after her while we are away. Our cat Wicca (13), she needs daily medication, 3 pills a day (one in the morning and two on the evening).

Just a heads-up: Wicca is the true landlord here. You’re just the guest she kindly tolerates (as long as the food is on time!). 😼

We will probably be absent most of the time but we love to host people from around the world and we are used to welcoming travelers from Couchsurfing, Home Exchange, etc... We will be happy to show you around and have dinner together while we are here.

We would prefer if you can come a few days early so we can show you how everything works around the house.

    Aide

Just need someone to take care of our cat. Feed her, clean the litter box and medicate her. Wicca takes a three pills in the mouth (one in the morning and two at night). Don't be afraid of the medication part. She is used to it. ;)
Please keep in mind that some cleaning tasks related to her might be necessary. For example, she might vomit occasionally or scatter litter around the house.

A cleaning person comes once a week (every Thursday, only to clean the house) but you are encouraged to keep the house clean.

In exchange you'll get your own room, it's the one David uses as his office from 9h to 18h. While we are away you will have the whole house for yourself.

You can use the kitchen and eat whatever you can find in the pantry or fridge. While we are here we will gladly pay for the meals we have together, but you'll have to buy groceries and pay for them while we are away.

Please, we ask for respect for our home, our cat, and our neighbors.
Kindly do not bring guests to our house, as that could cause stress Wicca and make it harder to give her medication.
Also, we wouldn’t feel comfortable having strangers in our home without our permission.
Please avoid making noise between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.

There is a pull-out bed in the office. It can be used as a single bed (80x200 cm) or as double bed (160x200 cm).

There's also our primary bedroom with a queen size bed (160 x 200) with a private bathroom but we prefer if you use the office.

The house is located in the outskirts of La Coruña, the area is called Temple (Cuesta de la Tapia).

The area is very quiet, it's a residential building next to the Casa de la Cultura de Cambre (called Villa Concepción) so we ask you to be quiet and respectful of the neighbours.
Smoking is not allow in the house.

There are coffee shops, supermarkets (open until 2am), banks, pharmacy etc within 300 meters.

There is a bus stop 300 meters away, going every 15 minutes to the city center of La Coruna. We can leave you a bus card so you can ride the bus for free.

La Coruña is a great place to meet people. There are several language exchange groups every week.

The city centre of La Coruña is compact and walkable. It sits on a peninsula so you can take a stroll overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, or cut through the Old Town from one side to the other. There's a great ambiance in the streets to drink a glass of wine, beers, tapas and great food.

There’s so much to do in and around the city during your free time: You can easily explore the area on two wheels—and don't worry, we can lend you some bikes to use the local bike paths.
We're lucky to have amazing beaches both right in the heart of town and just a short trip away, perfect for relaxing, surfing, kitesurfing, or trying some paddle surfing.
If you prefer the mountains, there are fantastic hiking trails nearby.

    Ways to get here:

In the city of A Coruña, there’s:
    - An airport (LCG )
    - A train station
    - A bus station
    - Blablacar

Other options that might be cheaper:
    - Flight to Madrid + train/bus/BlaBlaCar to A Coruña.
    - Flight to OPorto (Portugal) + bus/BlaBlaCar to A Coruña.

Depending on where you’re coming from, you can use one of these options to get here. If you arrive after 5 p.m. or on a weekend, we’ll be happy to pick you up with no problem.

If you are a citizen of the European Union, we recommend that when you come, you bring your European Health Insurance Card. We hope you won’t need it, but since it’s free, it’s better to be safe. This way you won’t have to pay to receive medical care if needed. Check in your country how to request it for free.

    Profile photo of Wicca

    Wicca (13 ans)

Wicca is our youngest! She is shy at the beginning, but with time, she will be super warmly!
She needs medication twice a day and she's deaf. But she has no trouble understanding that you're going to feed her! 😉

    Profile photo of Simi

    Simi (21 ans)

Simi was our oldest cat. At first, he was friendlier than Wicca—he would say hello to you right away! But he could be grumpy; despite looking like he might bite you, he never did. Once he trusted you, he was happy to cuddle next to you. 😊

He is no longer with us, but he was a part of our family for 20 and a half years. We loved and miss him very much!
