Hi there! My name is Ali and I am an undergraduate psychology student from Texas working on my bachelors. I am interested in a career in research and clinical psychology. Practicing yoga, being in theatrical productions, cooking, and studying Spanish are my primary hobbies. I also love cinema and listening to all kinds of music- my favorite genres are American folk, flamenco and electronic. Although I have been a city-dweller for most of my life, the past 2 years I have been spending a lot of time in nature, and have grown to love the outdoors.

I am very interested in traveling to Spain. Over the past few years, I have consumed a lot of Spanish media, and specifically, Andalusian culture has interested me a lot! Spain's mixture of cultures and their effects on society, as well as the many traditions spanning centuries, has made me want to travel to Andalusia and Spain in general for the longest time.

I am new to Workaway and am intrigued by the huge range of opportunities on the site. I had never really considered traveling while working at the same time before, but it is very attractive to me because although I really love to travel, I thrive with having a routine.I am very open to cooking, gardening, doing laundry, childcare ( for kids older than 6), DIY/basic repairs, and cleaning (which I have an affinity for) but am also open to doing something different if communicated with me!


Hola, soy Ali y estudio psicología en Texas. Acabo de completar el segundo año de la universidad. Me interesa dedicarme a la investigación y a psicología clínica. En mi tiempo libre suelo practicar yoga, participar en teatro, cocinar y estudiar castellano. También me encanta el cine y escuchar música de todo tipo. Mis géneros favoritos son el folk, el flamenco y la música electrónica. Aunque siempre he vivido en ciudades, en los últimos 2 años he pasado bastante tiempo en la naturaleza y le he cogido gusto al aire libre.

Me gustaría mucho viajar a España. En los últimos años he visto bastante contenido en castellano y, en especial, la cultura andaluza me ha llamado mucho la atención. La mezcla de influencias culturales parece muy interesante, y desde hace tiempo he tenido ganas de conocer España.

Soy nuevo en Workaway y me parece muy guay la variedad de opciones que tiene. Nunca me había planteado viajar mientras trabajo, pero me atrae bastante porque, aunque me encanta viajar, también me apetece tener una rutina. Estoy dispuesto a ayudar con cocina, jardinería, tareas del hogar, cuidado de niños (a partir de 6 años), pequeños arreglos y limpieza. También estoy abierto a colaborar en otras tareas si resulta que hace falta.

I am a native English speaker, and would be very happy to teach someone who speaks Spanish and is interested in learning English. I have 2 years of experience in teaching English to children who mostly speak Spanish! I am also interested in practicing my Spanish. Although I have been learning Spanish for about 8 years now and have good comprehension skills, I would like to practice my speaking with someone else to bring my speaking skills to an advanced level. Hablo ingles con fluidez y me encantaría ayudar a alguien en aprender el ingles. Tengo 2 años de experiencia en enseñar al ingles a niños que hablan castellano. Tengo muchas ganas de practicar el castellano. He sido aprendiendo el castellano desde hace 2017 años y aunque creo que puedo entender casi todo y comunicarse bien, todavía tengo mucho que aprender y quiero llegar a un nivel más avanzado.

I find a lot of enjoyment in cooking for others, and have worked as the head lunch chef for the 80+ residents for about 1 year now in a student cooperative housing unit I live in. I also am an efficient cleaner and enjoying cleaning as well. I have been known to put on a podcast and get lost in painting a mural, scrubbing a wall or reorganizing a closet. My 3 years of experience as a volunteer and tutor have given me significant experience with kids, and I can take care help in working with your child on their coursework.

I have 8 years of experience in performing in and directing theatrical productions and love performing on stage. I also have 6 years of experience in Photoshop and am certified by Adobe. I sometimes take commissions for work and would be willing to teach general photoshop skills, or teach a specific aspect of design if desired!

I am a huge fan of music, and love listening to new stuff. My favorite artists are Bobbie Gentry, Donna Summer, Madonna, Joni Mitchell, Mon Laferte, Rosalía, Bjork & Cher.
