We spent two lovely months at the farmhouse. The work consisted mainly of painting outside walls, gardening, building walls and taking care of the cats (and kittens <3). We had the flexibility to organise our schedule. Susanne and Johannes enabled us to become part of their family. We had dinner together, played with the children and went to the
… read more beach. We also learned Danish recipes and vice versa!
During our days off, we visited Denmark and in particular Copenhagen, which is very accessible from the house by bus and train.
We are very pleased with our stay with them and would be very happy to come back.

Living alongside Johannes, Susanne, Balder and the kids for 5-6 weeks was amazing. I truly count the time that I shared with them as very precious memories. I immediately felt welcome and immediately felt at home. The friendly conversations we all shared, the great jokes and shared work was all very enjoyable. I enjoyed the work that I was doing
… read more around the farm and felt that I was making an impact that would continue after having stayed with this amazing family. Johannes and Susanne were so gracious and helpful while i stayed, allowing me the time and space to write my music in my off hours. I learned so much about their culture, backgrounds and some of the traditions they observed and was lucky enough to join them in some local festival celebrations. As i said earlier, i felt immediately apart of the family and even met most of their extended family too.
I would love to come back and visit them all one day and cannot wait to see the huge impact they have made along with any other lucky workawayers who have stayed with them.
Thank you so much guys! I do miss the little farm and all of you! I will make the effort to come travelling to Denmark again soon.

Daniel ( Dan ) stayed with us for a month and it was a pleasure hosting him. Dan worked diligently on the assigned tasks and was all around a nice addition to our small family. We all ( including Balder, Jens and Kirsten ) look forward to hopefully host Dan again.

… read more note that it was our first Workaway experience and the truth is that it set a very high standard. Sussane and Johannes stand out for being good parents, great hosts and very funny people, so we remember with great affection everything they gave us and the moments we were able to spend with them, the children and of course, with Balder. Finally, comment that the town of Ringsted, in addition to being a beautiful place, is home to very friendly people who are open to meeting new people.

It was a wonderful expirience to host Gabi and Andrés and they stayed with us for nearly two month. I spent about 3 weeks with this cheerful, lovely Danish family. They are really friendly, kind and easy to talk to. I always enjoyed communicating with them. Also I experienced real Danish life. The children were very active and talkative, I had a lot of fun with them.
Work was mainly painting inside and outside, cutting lumbars, collecting
… read more rocks and so on. I had many opportunities to learn about painting, how to use a chainsaw , how to drive the tractor.

I couldn't asked for a better first workaway stay. The daily life( 3 1/2 weeks) with Susanne and Johannes and their wounderful 2 kids was so uncomplicated, joyful, hearty and interesting. We stayed with family for 3 weeks and wish it could have been longer. We participated in the easter activities with friends and family, living the real Danish life. The children are very friendly and we had a lot of fun! We loved walks in the forest with the dog, dinner grown-ups conversations, group rides and all the food and drinks provided.

The activities of the farm (15min away walking) in that time were chopping wood, fixing floors, assembling refrigerator to the wall, cut trees, paint the ceilling, clean garden and others. … read more of the time they where working independently and did so brilliantly. We got a lot of painting and cleaning done in the old farm house and the garden also received an agressive trimming.
In the evenings they participated in the kitchen preparing dinner and played with the kids. After the kids bedtime we had some lovely evenings discussing life, everything and the universe:)
