Hello! I'm originally from the US, but have been based in Asia for the past 7 years. For work back home I had lots of hospitality / service industry, instructional / education jobs, and freelance video production gigs. I have done volunteer work in schools tutoring at-risk students and I am always happy to offer English language skills to anyone interested. I also have personal training (NASM CPT certified) and swim instructor (YMCA) experience and I am more than happy to share those skills as well.

Currently, I work online providing English conversational practice with learners in Asia, South America and Europe. I also make English language input videos for Chinese social media platforms. I incorporate language teaching with my passion for culture and the arts. I love story telling of all kinds and use film, TV, comics, lyrics, and folk tales to deliver English input to learners. My teaching method is in the "comprehensible input" or "natural method" (a/k/a TPRS).

I believe in the healing power of humor and that everyone deserves a chance to be heard. I'm adaptable to different cultures and work styles, and will conversate about everything from politics to pop music. I practice daily sitting or walking meditation along with qigong and have a great interest in the spiritual traditions of the world.
