Hello, dear host!
Our names are Rebecca and Federico, two Italian travellers who enjoy an adventurous life!
We love travelling and taking photos with our cameras. We like meeting new people from all around the world and sharing our travel experiences together and with them.

The first time I lived abroad was in 2019 while in high school, for an Erasmus Traineeship in Lund (Sweden).
After graduating in a technical high school in 2020, I started to pursue a Bachelor's in Industrial Chemistry. A semester after, I realized it was not for me and I dropped out. During spring and summer 2021, I had the outstanding chance to work as a drone Project Coordinator in an environmental lab near my hometown in Italy.
From 2021 to 2023 I studied in Milan for another bachelor, while working as drone pilot first, and sustainability assistant after at that same company. My last semester, 4 years after Lund, I came back to Scandinavia for an Erasmus semester in Copenhagen.

I have always strongly believed that traveling, understood as “moving through space and time,” has the ability to “open the mind,” and over the years I have been fortunate enough to experience this many times.

I am an outdoor person: I love the smell of firewood and staring at all those little flames during a clear night, seeing the stars on the sky. I fell in love with rope climbing in 2021, and now while in the urban environment of Copenhagen I practice bouldering indoors - for sure not as exciting, but I'm still always looking forward to come back to the gym!


(Rebecca) A bit of my background:
I graduated from high school in June 2020 and decided to take a gap year. I moved to Edinburgh in July 2020 and returned home in October, after spending three months in Scotland, travelling and volunteering. I moved to Malta in June 2021 and spent 6 months there, working in a restaurant and travelling around in my free time. In January 2022, I moved back to Italy, in Rome, to start a photography school. I spent 2 months in Ireland in the summer of 2022, working in a B&B in Dublin, and then returned to Italy. In January 2023, I travelled in Morocco for 2 and a half months, then I came back to Italy to leave soon after to Ireland again for 2 months, working in a campsite in the Wicklow Mountains. In 2023, I also spent 6 months in France as an Au Pair.
2024 was a year of big struggles and new beginnings. I spent a lot of months at home and took part in my first Erasmus+ projects, in the Czech Republic, Poland and Georgia. I met so many new people and travelled in 8 different countries thanks to Erasmus and my enrollment in a university in Norway in August 2024. Right now, I am in full-time education (and work part-time alongside) until 2027, when I will graduate from my Bachelor's degree, and I will always be a traveller in love with the world. I am looking forward to having so many adventurous experiences in the future!

Travelling and photography are my biggest passions! I like meeting new people from all around the world, learning from different cultures, and sharing our travel stories.

Something about me:
I am a polite and kind girl. I am respectful and reliable. I am a creative person. I try to be as ecological as possible. Our planet is very important, and I like to act to not harm the Earth. I try as much as I can to follow a plant-based diet. I enjoy practising yoga and meditation sometimes in the morning. I find it very relaxing, and it helps me start a better day.
I'm into minimalism, and I agree with "less is more." The meaningful things in life are experiences, love, and memories, not objects. That's why I like travelling and meeting people; this makes me enrich my soul, not the latest cool device or luxury clothing brand.

In Italy, I lived in a small town in the countryside near Trieste, in the northeast of the country. I love travelling and exploring new places and learning more about other cultures different from mine. I like reading books also, especially detective stories. I like listening to music too. I enjoy rock 'n roll, and I go to many concerts, but I like to discover new music too. Feel free to share your music taste with me! :)

I consider myself a nomad. I like trying new experiences and living my life in different countries; I feel part of it. I have lived in 7 different countries so far; Italy is my home, but I felt deeply connected to Scotland and Malta thanks to work experiences and Couchsurfing; in Ireland, in France as an Au Pair, in Norway as a student, and many more to come.

Que habilidades tienes?

I can do a lot of things and I'm a good student: if you'd like to teach me something new I can learn it very fast.

I love photography and I have a professional mirrorless camera and lenses, a personal computer and software editing. I’m a documentary and travel photographer, but I also have experience with touristic and sport photography, I also work as a photographer at many events like concerts and birthday parties.

I'm very good at cooking and I love it: if you'd like to taste some Italian cuisine just ask! I'm good at baking, cooking pizza, bread, focaccia and pasta with many different toppings. I'm also able to prepare jam! I've started cooking some vegan meals: I enjoy vegetables and plant-based dishes a lot.

I like nature very much and I enjoy gardening and taking care of plants and gardens. I have my own vegetable garden at my home in Italy that I enjoy so much. I lived in the countryside, in a small village called Pieris (province of Gorizia/Gorica). I live pretty close to the Slovenian and Austrian borders. I experienced organic gardening, helping in the hen house and driving a tractor too :) (but I don't have a car license yet lol)

I can help with general maintenance and help in the house and housework. I have 5 years of experience in babysitting and childcare, in fact, I used to be a babysitter from my 17. The youngest child I took care of was 9 months old, the eldest one was 11.


My workaway experience so far:
- Summer 2020: housekeeping and night shifts receptionist in a Hostel in Old Town Edinburgh, Scotland.
- September 2020: farm work, animal care (Shetland ponies and hen house), gardening and cooking in a family in the countryside in Aberdeenshire (Scotland).
- Summer 2021: house sitter in Malta
- Summer 2022: help with running a family B&B and housesitting in Dublin, Ireland. I did housekeeping, cooking a little bit, taking care of the cats and the chicken while the owners were travelling
- February 2023. I spent 2 weeks in Tagounite, a small village in the Moroccan Sahara Desert. I mainly help with construction, we were making bricks with water and clay.
- February 2023: volunteering in a dog rescue shelter in Tamraght, near Agadir, Morocco.
- March 2023: I did social media management and reception (checking in guests, checking out, managing the booking and Airbnb account of the hostel) in a surf and yoga hostel in Imsouane, Morocco.
- March 2023: I did house sitting and pet sitting (two dogs and one cat) in Essauera, Morocco. I took the dogs out three times per day and fed the pets.
- September 2025: After a long break from travelling with Workaway, I am finally back. I spent a few weeks in Bulgaria, in the mountains close to Sofia, helping around the property with general maintenance, cleaning of the construction areas and more.
