I used to teach geography and ethics at a high school in Sapporo, Japan. I took early retirement this past March.
From 1991 to 1993, I cycled around the world, visiting 55 countries. To date, I have visited 75 countries.
I am particularly knowledgeable about Japanese society, culture, and Eastern philosophy, and I can answer questions about them.
I enjoy thinking about the meaning of human life, and since childhood, I have admired the philosophy of the Ainu, a minority ethnic group in Japan, learning from them about the relationship between gods, nature, and humanity, as well as sustainable living.
In the future, I plan to build my own cabin, cultivate rye, bake bread, and challenge myself to live a self-sufficient life of energy and food. I hope to learn various knowledge and skills from those who came before me in Japan and around the world.
I don't have much trouble reading English, but I'm not good at listening or speaking it. I have the latest automatic translation machine, so I don't think I will have any trouble communicating.
My family consists of my wife, two daughters, and one cat.

i will visit Whitehorse on 10th JUL to meet the host family I was taken care of during my round-the-world trip in 1991. And I will visit portage la prairie MB on 15th AUG to meet the host family I was saved my life during my trip across Canada in 1887.
