Hi there!

My name is Christine, I'm 38 years old and from southern Germany.
After working full-time as an engineer for the past 4.5 years I'm now ready to travel again and gain new experiences. Since I'm in love with the nordic countries and have been to Sweden and Norway several times, I chose Norway as my next destination.
I'd like to volunteer with animal care, preferrable sled dogs. I'm also handy with tools and open for projects around the house, gardening and other maintenance.

In 2018/2019 I travelled and worked in Canada using the International Experience Canada visa. This was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure which I'll never forget. I used workaway.info as well as other websites to work in the following jobs:
- animal care and training at a horse farm/stable in British Columbia, Canada
- training and show support at a horse ranch in Alberta, Canada
- lift operator at a ski resort for a full winter season in Alberta, Canada

I studied automotive engineering and have been working in the industry as project and process engineer since 2010. In my free time I like to be outdoors doing things like hiking, horseback riding, snowboarding and a whole lot more. I'm open to new experiences so just make a suggestion and I'm probably in :)

I'm hardworking and quick on the uptake. I like to work self-contained on tasks I've been given.
I'm excited to meet kind people, learn new skills and have a great time.

Que habilidades tienes?

I love working with and caring for animals. I've worked as a stablehand before I started my studies, so I know the hard work that's needed to keep the horses fed, the stalls clean and everything else tidy. I've been horseback riding since I was about 6 years old. I do not have as much experience with other animals besides our family owning a dog a few years back but I'm willing to learn.

I'm into snowboarding as well as other winter activities - especially when it gets really cold and/or snowy. For the rest of the year I try to keep in shape with Yoga.

In my freetime I also like to work on classic cars. I'm not a trained mechanic but I know the difference between a wrench and a screwdriver :)

Working on DIY projects with my dad (mostly woodworking) has helped me get fairly handy with different tools like saws, (electric) drills and the likes.

I like to think I've got some computer skills, especially with presentations and Excel tables. So if you need some help in the office I can probably be of assistance.

I generally like company and being around other people but I'll gladly be on my own for a while as circumstances demand. During the last years I've come to learn a lot about myself and am quite happy with just my own company, too :)
