Hello, we are Lu and Mari, an adventurous Italian duo currently living in the Netherlands. We are both active and creative people, passionate about socialising and discovering new things. We are eager to know more about life and we are curious to encounter new cultures, for this reason we have decided to travel to Asia for a while through workaway. We are very interested in community life and the possibility to meet all kind of people, share our experiences and learn from others. We both have our own set of skills, but we are motivated to develop new skills and acquire knowledge about everything we can. We both have a positive can-do personality, always with a smile on our faces.

Hi! I’m Mari! I’m going to talk about my skills and what i can do :)
Work wise i’ve spent a decade in Hospitality and restaurants so that is my area of expertise. I’m a great bartender and have a wide knowledge in spirits, wine and everything related to alcohol. I’m a decent cook and i love to prepare delicious italian meals for everyone. I’m not vegetarian but i learned through the years to cook nice vegan/vegetarian meals to include everyone.
During my free time i like to shoot and edit videos. I aspire to be an awesome videographer and one day create my own travel documentaries. I’m going to travel with my camera hoping to get better and maybe learn more and who knows, maybe help you with some social media work if needed.
I have a degree in children and elderly care and i believe i’m good with kids, as i also grew up with a lot of children around me, mostly brothers and cousins from my very large family.
I’m also keen to learn some new skills as carpentering and gardening and i have plenty of energy to do some heavy and hard work.

Hello, it’s Lu here! I am passionate about art and literature since a very young age, I love creating things with my hands and telling stories. I also love drawing, painting and taking pictures to immortalise moments. I have experience in hospitality as well as I was working in bars and cafes while studying in the UK, then I got a job in customer relations for an eco friendly beauty company in the Netherlands. These experiences allowed me to develop my abilities to connect with people as well as my communication skills - I speak fluently Italian, English and French. I am very active person and I love sports like yoga and climbing, diving in the see and hiking in nature. I am very energetic and I like the idea of helping with physical work and learning more about gardening. In the past I have also worked as an au pair taking care of two young kids. It was an extremely valuable experience for me, I was the one meant to teach them English, but I feel like I learnt even more from them. I believe I can adapt my skills to all sort of situation as they are all quite transferable, but mainly I am confident I am a fast learner and can acquire new skills quickly.
