Hi! I'm Madeleine but everyone calls me Maddie! I'm a 19 year old university student studying Environmental Science.
I'm super into hiking, backpacking, and rock climbing. I'm a leader for my university's outdoors club, so I help plan and lead trips for other students which has been such a fun and rewarding experience! I love bringing people together through adventure and spending time in nature.
I've also worked at summer camps for years, volunteered at a community garden, and spent a few years helping out at a barn. I'm flexible, easygoing, and always happy to pitch in wherever I’m needed.
I haven’t really had the chance to travel outside the US yet, so I’m really excited to explore new places and meet people from different backgrounds! Through Workaway, I’m hoping to learn new skills, make new friends, and experience different ways of living!

I love being outside and staying active, especially when I get to learn something new! Last summer I worked on a small organic farm and absolutely loved it. Right now I volunteer at a community garden, and before that I spent a few years helping out at a barn where I fed animals, mucked stalls, and did a little bit of everything.
I’m super comfortable with hands-on work like weeding, planting, harvesting, cooking, and taking care of animals. I really enjoy being part of a team and jumping in wherever I’m needed!
I’ve also worked at summer camps for a few years, which taught me how to stay calm, flexible, and positive in pretty much any situation. I speak English and know a bit of French, and I’m always excited to learn something new and help out however I can!

I love cooking and trying new recipes, especially with other people! I also really enjoy crocheting and find it super relaxing. Music is a big part of my life and I’m always looking for song recommendations! Some of my favorite artists are the Grateful Dead, Mt. Joy, and The Strokes. I’m also super into games and love playing cards and board games. Rummy is one of my all-time favorites!
