Hi I'm Maddy! I recently graduated University with a Double Degree in Commerce-Marketing and International Studies. I have grown up on the South-East coast of Australia, simultaneously living by the beach and in the countryside, which has made me extremely passionate about sustainability and protecting the planet. I am looking to volunteer from August through until October, and am eager to challenge myself through new experiences, meet and work with new people from different backgrounds, and learn about different cultures and ways of life.

After completing a six-month exchange in Spain last year, experiencing the challenges and the rewards of building a new life and creating new friendships, I realised there was so much more of the world I wanted to explore, and an abundance of new skills to learn. So, instead of moving straight into a full-time marketing career after graduation, I decided to take a travel gap year to continue learning through experiences, travel, and volunteering.

I recently spent time backpacking through Brazil, Argentina, and Chile, and made new lifelong friends through amazing shared experiences. I am outgoing and love spending time with friends and family and connecting with like-minded people who are also passionate, adventurous, and open-minded. I love being outdoors, whether that's going for long beach walks, swimming, hiking, and exploring new places. Health, sustainability, community, and living a life full of meaningful experiences are all things that are important to me.

I am a highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal and transferable skills through extensive customer-facing experience across hospitality and service environments, including decision-making and problem solving. As a recent graduate, I have completed multiple internships for both corporate and non for profit organisations in Australia, prior to my 6 month study abroad semester in Spain, which have provided me with the skills to be more adaptable, open minded, resilient and open to exploring new opportunities.
I have a strong passion for content creation, storytelling, and all things social media. I enjoy photography/videography, creating engaging digital content, and am currently building my own travel-focused platform as I begin an extended period of solo travel.
I believe authentic storytelling is one of the most powerful ways to inspire action and connect people with important causes.
Additionally, I am a native English speaker, although did study a beginner level of Spanish, and am open to learning new languages.
