Hi! My name is Kaya, I was born and raised in Canada. I’ve wanted to travel for as long as I can remember, to see things and places that you don’t just see when you stay in one place. One of my goals is to experience new things and push myself outside of my comfort zone in order to grow and to flourish. I think the world can be beautiful, filled with beautiful people and places and cultures. I really enjoy meeting new people and learning from others and from different experiences.

I believe we’re all connected. I want to help heal people and if I can do that by volunteering while travelling then I am more than enthusiastic about it! I have my certification for levels one and two Reiki Healing, and I know that I’m here to help people. I want to heal people and listen, and really hear what others have to say. Building and environment where people can be themselves, feel safe and comfortable, is incredibly important to me. I’m really looking forward to meeting all different types of people and learning as I go.

I love to spend time in nature, to dance and to sing and to talk. I love to listen to people’s stories and go for walks, and I love finding new music.

I’ve worked plenty of different types of jobs, from retail in clothing, to selling ski tickets, to working outside in landscaping. I’m a hard worker, who’s resilient, flexible and adaptable. I’ve worked a lot in customer service which has really allowed me to expand my social skills and my ability to be patient and work well with others. While working doing landscaping And outdoor labor, I proved to myself that I was capable of doing hard work, and pushing myself mentally and physically. I know that I can be adaptable to a variety of different work environments shift and change as necessary. I hope to continue to build on these skills, as well as bring on new ones, especially in terms of learning how to be self sufficient and sustainable.

I really like to get in touch with my creative side when I can. I used to paint in my free time I also used to dance competitively. I feel like creativity, and self expression is so important when it comes to connecting with ourselves and the world around us. I like to practice meditation and yoga, but I’m definitely better at practising yoga when it’s with someone else or in a group setting to keep my motivation.
