This is my first time at Workaway, but not my first time traveling or exploring new things. I did a lot of Couchsurfing all over the world, which is a really cool way to learn more about how people live instead of just the touristic things. I hope Workaway is a little bit the same.
One year later I had my first Workaway experience in Plav - Montenegro. I worked in a hostel for four weeks and enjoyed the experience and adventure.

I'm 38 years old, live in the east of the Netherlands and mostly working as a care-taker (with disabled kids, disabled women who needed help with psysical care, a boy with autism) and being a teacher in primary school. But I also worked as a tester for Covid-19 for example. I like variety in my daily life ;).

I'd like to experience new things in life. It started with the family-holidays when I was a kid I guess, but over the years I'm looking for different adventures. For example: doing an internship in South-Africa, renting a car in Canada and explore the country on my own, do a 6-days walkingtour on Tasmania in Australia, travel around the world for 9 months and see a lot of beautiful people and nature.
There's so much more in the world then just my hometown and I'm happy to explore it all!

Because of this I just sold my house and wanna live a free life. Homesitting, traveling, working abroad, buying a camper. Who knows what's gonna happen? We will see!

Off course I can learn my language to you, although I'n not sure how it's gonna help you in life since it's not spoken in many countries ;). I'm curious to learn some other language, although it's also nice to communicate in English and having more words to express myself.

As said, I'm mainly working as a care-taker and as a teacher in primary school. I also have a really cute niece (8yrs) and nephew (6yrs) where I did a lot of babysitting and playing around. So I hope I can say I'm good with kids ;).

I'm a very practical person, so my house and life are quiet tidy. I can be extrovert, but I'm also an introvert. I'm easy-going and not a trouble-maker at all. I adapt real easy in new things or at a new place. I can take care of myself and enterteain myself pretty well.

I'm interested in sustainability. I live a minimalistic household. I sold the things I don't really need and being cautious/thoughtful of buying new things. In my travels for example I experienced I was really happy with the few things I had in my backpack. I didn't miss 'luxury' things from home at all. At the same time I'm not a goof and still living my life as other people do as well. Just, I'm more thoughtful about things.

I'm eager and curious to learn new things about people, culture, food, traditions, etc. So don't be surprised if I ask a lot of questions :)...
I like traveling solo so I can do my own things and make my own decisions. I also think it's easier to meet new people if I'm traveling alone. But I'm also good in a group of people I can adapt easily and feel home quite fast.

I like to read books and magazines, I sing every Monday-evening, I walk a lot to explore, especially when I'm somewhere else. On my travels I'm very active, doing hikes, doing a lot of sightseeing, interact with people, meet new friends, being curious.

At home I eat 99% as a vegetarian, but on my travels I'm more flexible with that.

My goal is being good for myself, but also to other people and definity to nature/the world.
