Hello! Bonjour!

My name is Jacob and Im 32. I used to live in London, but decided to give up the rat race to volunteer, travel and hopefully learn a new language.

i'm currently in Australia budding roses on a working holiday visa but my main dream is to go to Canada (Quebec) to help learn the french language, visiting other parts of Canada along the way such as British Columbia and afterwards travel across the United States.

My primary goal is to learn French, as I love the sound of the language. Maintenant mon francais est tres mal mais j'espere que c'est va etre mieux avec le temps! ideally I'm looking for a French speaking host who doesn't mind speaking in French, correcting my mistakes and being patient with my responses.

I'm calm natured but enjoy a good conversation and I'm happy to be with others or spend time by myself if needed. I enjoy nature, walks and meditation and have been on many meditation/ yoga retreats which I've find are the best way of coming back to myself when life gets hectic. I don't have children or a partner but I grew up in a big family (I was one of 5 siblings) and have two nieces, who I love spending time with and means I'm good with children.

I really hope to meet lots of new and interesting people and to learn more about the world along the way! Your help will be much appreciated :)

Que habilidades tienes?

I'm happy to do physical or outdoor work and will get on with any tasks once I know what's required.

Id like to learn new skills if I can. I have basic skills on a sewing machine and I can learn to use most tools if shown how (YouTube videos also help!) though I haven't been involved in much DIY as I don't own my own home.

I enjoy looking after plants and I'm happy to spend time with children if needed. I don't have experience with looking after animals but will give it a try!

I like to read, exercise and explore new places. I'm interested in meditation, yoga and religions such as Buddhism and Hinduism though I myself am not religious. I collect old coins as a hobby which I've done since I was a child. I have an inflatable Kayak which I take when I go camping in places across the UK. I'm not motivated by money but have a desire to make the most of my life and try where possible to be a positive influence in the world.
