Hello, nice to meet you!
My name is Ginny and I leave the UK end of September and head to the land down under!
I would consider myself a very calm, caring and patient person.. My hobbies include exploring the great outdoors, music, all sports and over the last year I've become obsessed with surfing and swimming and I love being near or in the water. So much that I recently completed my National Pool Lifeguard Qualification. One of my goals is to complete my Bronze Medallion Surf Life Saving Course in Australia so that I can do some beach patrolling and volunteering.
Music is a big part of my life, and although my creative energy has dwindled since working in an office... I do enjoy singing, composing, playing piano and guitar when I can and would love to meet hosts that are musical too!
I adore all animals no matter how big or small, and because I'm unable to have dogs or cats where I live, I regularly dog and cat sit as a side hustle. I've had quite a few jobs working outdoors covering Animal Management (large & small animals), Countryside Management (repairing fences, bricklaying), Conservation projects (Restoring reed beds, The Great Crane project) & Garden Maintenance (Hedge cutting, strimming, weeding, pruning, Grass cutting).
I studied for 3 years at Easton College (Norfolk, UK) and over that time I've worked on farms at the college (Mucking out, early shifts milking cows, night shifts during calving season and general duties feeding, watering and undertaking daily health checks). As part of my course I also worked 4 days a week at PACT Animal rescue looking after horses, pigs, goats, sheep, 50 dogs, rodents, wild birds, and 100 cats (I was solely responsible for looking after all the cats on Mondays). I love dogs and I especially enjoy working with those with behavioural problems so I could help improve their chance of being rehomed. I've also worked with horses over the years in the UK and in Cooktown. This involved going to the yard twice a day to feed, water and muck out. We'd also take them out for short hacks in the fields in the evenings. I've had lessons on and off over the years so I can ride, but it has been a few years since I've done that. I would love the opportunity to ride again!
I've spent the last 8 years in an office (IT and Cyber Security), and now my feet are itching to get outdoors to connect with nature (and myself) again! I am super excited to learn some new skills and open myself up to some challenges that will push me mentally and physically. :-)
If you have any questions, or think I will be a great help on your farm then please reach out.
I look forward to my next adventure!Intereses

Being able to work from home has meant I can dog walk / dog sit part time which is great because I am a big dog lover!
I studied Animal management & Countryside Management for 2 years which involved farming, animal behaviour, ecology & conservation and the day to day caring of small and large animals.
