    Updated July 5 2023

Hi! I’m originally from Wisconsin, but have been living in San Antonio for the last year and a half after doing a few workaways in Texas. I’m looking to shake things up again and head up to the Pacific Northwest, where I've never been. Want to hit up some National Parks along the way. The workaways I did in 2021 were hands on, and mostly farm oriented. I’ve worked on a small hobby farm and at a vineyard/winery. Back in Wisconsin I spent most of my time working in retail and food service, but I also was helping at an organic farm for a while and doing interior painting and yard work for a woman as well.
A few hobbies of mine are hiking, sewing, and all kinds of art projects- I have started doing art markets and working on social media marketing for my art in the last few years. I've travelled to Europe a few times, volunteered in Puerto Rico in 2019, and have roadtripped around the states a few times in the last few years now.
I am interested in learning more about people and cultures- living in Texas I learned a lot about regional differences in the US- and I would really love to learn Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, and maybe Arabic. I took French in high school but have largely lost it, so I would love to brush up on that as well. I'm interested in sustainability projects, digital marketing, accounting, fashion, and the arts as potential career paths, so if you have any knowledge to share I would love to hear it!
Lastly, a bit about living with me- I am clean and always pick up after myself especially in shared spaces. I can cook pretty well, and don't mind cooking meals on occasion or as a shared group activity. Or prepping meals ahead of time. I am respectful of space and will maintain any boundaries you have in place. I enjoy both group activities and quiet time, and can adjust to your preferences. I work well with lists if you have random tasks you'd like done. I prefer straightforward communication. If something isn't working, let's talk about it.

I would be interested in practicing my french-- when I graduated high school I was nearly fluent. However, like the old saying "you don't use it, you lose it," I have not used it much in the last few years and unfortunately therefore it takes longer to recall even some of the basics. I am also interested in learning Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, and maybe Arabic.

An overview of my work experience:
I worked as a babysitter for about 8 months when I was a sophomore in high school, then started a part time job at Target, which lasted about three years. I started out as a cashier, then quickly moved to service desk and later I would sub in for the front end manager when we did not have one available. When I left there, I began working at a cafe inside of a small health food store. That job lasted almost three years as well, where I began as a cashier/barista, then was promoted to a supervisor position. There, I would bounce between the deli, kitchen, and cafe. During the first few months of covid, they had me create and run a new curbside pickup operation for the grocery store. I worked side by side the general manager and owner of the store to get it started, and then I trained others on our system. Then the business invested in a third party online service to run the curbside orders, and I relearned and then retrained my employees on the new system. Then in the last two months of working there I moved back to the cafe and was given some office work-- doing orders for products and inputing spreadsheet information, as well as creating new drink recipes-- in addition to my usual tasks in the cafe. I left in summer, and moved to an organic farm that specializes in raw dairy and grass-fed/pasture raised meats. During summer I worked on the line in their pizza kitchen for a weekly pizza night on the farm event. In fall I started driving a weekly delivery route, and working in the store on the farm, as well as doing any other day to day projects around the farm, or extra product pick ups.
In 2021 I started workaway, my first one being a vineyard and winery in west Texas. I pruned vines, worked in the food truck, harvested, and helped wine production, and occasionally made dinner for everyone. In summer I stayed on a small hobby farm, doing occasional errands and mostly feeding the animals in the morning and afternoon. In fall I returned to the vineyard.
For the last year and a half I have been managing an art studio for kids in San Antonio. My duties mostly involve client relations and scheduling, along with some paperwork.

Working in retail, I've definitely learned a thing or two on customer service and problem solving. I am also a fast learner, and pick up on just about everything rather quickly. I am very organized in my work, and am detail oriented. I have a good work ethic and don't find that I need much outside motivation, I get the job done either way. I am very efficient and manage my time well, especially once I get used to a new task. I'm used to answering phone calls and questions daily, and I've gotten used to "winging it" in certain cases where there is constant change. I am responsible and reliable, as well as very flexible. I find I naturally fall into a leader role where it is applicable, and I am pretty good at bringing a positive attitude. In workaway environments, I definitely enjoy having the freedom to create my own schedule, and I appreciate lists of any tasks that need to be done.

no- however if you are strictly vegan/vegetarian please let me know. I do not need to have animal products at every meal but I do prefer having them available to me. I am from Wisconsin after all, I need my cheese! lol
