Hello, I'm Briana, 25 years old and I am incredibly inspired by people, culture, ancestry, making deep connections, & following synchronicities! I want to meet more lovers, leaders, soulful and visionary humans! I love people, poetry, soul led connections, art, singing, staying active, play all of sorts, and getting out of my comfort zone in expression and creativity.

I am currently living in Arizona, USA, but soon will be transiting into being a full time digital nomad while taking a pilgrimage through my paternal ancestral lands. My family name traces back 5,000 years to Armenia where my pilgrimage will begin. I plan to travel the route my ancestors emigrated through when they left Armenia, to eventually arrive in Sicily where they landed and stayed for many generations until my grandfather came to the USA in the 1950s.

I'm not sure where this journey will take me! I'm along for the ride and all the magic that will unfold as I follow my heart... I am beyond excited to witness who I will become through this experience. I feel incredibly drawn to these lands and the unique culture of each of these places, I crave to learn more and become more intimate with the places my ancestors walked. I am excited to know more about myself and my lineage through this adventure!

I am also a somatic mentor and transformation guide for women who have experienced extreme disconnection and lack of safety in their bodies. I support women in building a deep connection with themselves, their intuition and their true heart path. I empower, encourage and teach them how to listen to their true inner voice, create personal safety in the body and lead a life that truly feels like THEIRS! I am incredibly passionate about this work and feel honored to steward it in this life!

I have traveled pretty extensively in the United States and enjoy road trips, camping, backpacking, and swimming! I lived with a host family in Uganda, Africa for a few months back in 2020 when I was studying Sociology and Service Leadership at University. I have traveled to Guatemala a few times doing service work supporting a local orphanage, I did a variety of tasks such as painting, cleaning, and digging ditches as well as spending lots of time loving on the kiddos!

I feel most like myself when I am in nature, near wild waters, singing, writing, playing, and laughing. I also feel most like myself when I am able to use my gifts, life story, and skills to support, teach, and uplift other people. Also, when I am in the kitchen making delicious home cooked meals for other people or staying up late having deep conversations and big belly laughs!

My dads side of the family is Italian, from Sicily and I would like to learn my native language! I want to reconnect to this part of my ancestry, and when I have children one day, I want to teach them Italian!

She is a wealth of knowledge and we were able to engage in many enriching conversations! I learned so much while living with her and had a fully immersed cultural experience. Although she speaks English well, she and her son speak Italian in the home which really helped my comprehension of the language. She was mindful of translating conversations for me while also helping me learn the language slowly! We spent a lot of time talking, preparing and sharing meals together, watching movies and shows in Italian, playing games, going into town, and overall becoming really good friends. I was fully woven into their life and still feel so grateful for the opportunity to have this experience blossom into friendship. I had an incredible experience and miss them, the land, and our time together often!

The accommodations are fine, very comfortable, private and cozy. The view out of the bedroom window is beautiful and serene. You get your own spacious bathroom, wahoo! The land she lives on is absolutely beautiful, very spacious and quite. The work during this time of the year is tedious, but necessary and rewarding. It feels good to move the body and work on the land moving branches, large trees and creating burn piles. She has other tasks for you to do as well like feeding the dogs, chickens, cutting the wild olive sprouts from the larger trees, collecting and moving wood, and light tidying around the home.

Nori is so sweet and is such a special, funny, fun, expressive, playful human! We had a lot of fun together and found our way to connect despite the language barrier! These people are genuinely good people!! Be kind, mindful, helpful, and aware that you are sharing space in someones personal home. The home is spacious and beautiful, but not so large. You have personal space but you are not alone, fully, be mindful of that before coming to this workaway. If you desire full isolation this may not be the space/ work for you OR you just wont get the full experience of what is available to you if you hide away in your room 24/7.

I would recommend staying with Deina and Nori overall because I think they are wonderful enriching people who offer sweet value to connection and travel, but definitely if you desire a quite, more remote and intimate experience of connection with other people with a mix of a good amount of alone time too. Days are slow this time of year and there is a lot of space to do your own thing outside of the work.

Staying with Deina is a great opportunity for someone who values cultural exchange, connection, and time with the land. Someone who loves the quite or needs a period of peace to reset but still wants to get into the city or town here and there for the day if they desire. You will have to coordinate with Deina on rides, but Catania is not far and the metro is fairly close by so there is plenty of opportunity to go into the city, but it is not walkable and not everyday.

Final note: Italians eat significantly less meat than I do as an American. Deina is a fabulous cook, and I truly loved all of her dishes! I was already in Sicily for a month before my stay with her so my body did have time to adjust to the portions and less meat, but just be mindful that she is purchasing food for the home and the way she and Nori eat may be different than you. If you need anything from the store you can always request (within appropriate means) or go shopping with her and buy yourself extra meat/ more food if needed!
