Descripción
Through Workaway I've had terrific experiences in France, Croatia, Bosnia, and Bulgaria doing a wide variety of jobs such as basic renovations, garden/yard/farm work, plastering, painting, helping in hostels, making art and caring for creatures. I also volunteered for about a year in various refugee camps and on borders in Eastern Europe which inspired my pursuit of a degree in human services, justice and liberation.
More recently I've been working as a gardener and I'm in the midst of some big life transitions, so I'm excited to visit Japan for the first time!
In my free time I delight in textiles (namely crochet, quilting, visible mending, and creative reuse), analog visual art in general, singing & storytelling, live theatre, casual outdoor adventures, plants and cooking.

I spent nearly a month and a half in her charming patch of Ivancha, and it was truly a delight in the midst of a dreary winter. I only spent one week here with the Scott clan and unfortunately was sick right in the middle of it, so I certainly didn't get to enjoy myself as much as I could have. Sarah and her boyfriend Simon spent a week working with us preparing and painting a ceiling in the first floor apartment on our worksite. They did really good, clean work, sanding down the surfaces to prepare them for painting and then applying paint.

Lovely Sarah was with us for about 5 weeks and we really enjoyed her stay. Normally we don't take on such young work-awayers but in her case we were very happy to have made an exception of our own rule. Paul, Bianca, and Toby (and the menagerie of cats, dogs, cows, pigs, chickens, ducks, and geese) went above and beyond as hosts and I felt so at home working, drinking, and laughing alongside them in my 5 weeks there.
