Hola 👋🏻! I’m Alberto, a friendly open-minded traveler with a warm Latin soul. Over the past 7 years, I've backpacked and volunteered across Latin America, Europe, and Asia. After leaving a high-pressure career, I now embrace a simpler, conscious lifestyle focused on nature, real human connection, and meaningful moments.

​I love spontaneous outdoor experiences, whether that’s hiking, cooking tacos together 🌮, working on a community project, or watching the sunset 🌅. I travel light with a backpack, always curious to learn about nature, science, technology, arts, and your culture while sharing a bit of my Mexican roots 🪅.

I'll probably keep traveling until I fall in love with an amazing place to settle down or meet someone special along the way.

I'm doing now slow travelling to have the oportunity to really explore the placed, meet locals, it's culture, food and do good friends.
I’d love to find a like-minded travel partner to share these beautiful places 🏞️, genuine connection is what matters most to me, regardless of background or age. If we have a good connection I'll be happy travelling for long periods with you :) (also is cheaper sharing a room)

Currently exploring the Caribbean life in southern Mexico 🏝️ (Bacalar, Cancún, Mérida, Valladolid, Playa del Carmen) and Chiapas.(San Cristóbal and some towns) .

​-- VOLUNTEERING INTERESTS --
I usually stay in hostels, camp, or share spaces with other travelers. I’m looking to volunteer with environmental NGOs, social/nature projects, sea/boats, and small-mid hostels. I’m open to long-term stays for the right cause and would be thrilled to apply my IT, Data Science, and AI skills to help conservation projects solve real-world problems.
In my home city I frequently support a social activist person and learn whatever I can from her about natural medicine, nature, and other valuable things.

--About Me & Profession--
Degree in Economics and MSc in Data Science & AI, I like hands-on outdoor experiences and social causes. I’m physically fit, highly adaptable, and love team living. Always happy to share my time with you. In my free time I enjoy photography, drawing, nature, and trying new things.

--My Volunteer & Practical Experience--
Over the years, I’ve joined diverse projects across different countries:

•Nature & Conservation: Mayan jungle preservation in Guatemala, sea turtle egg rescue in Oaxaca, and clearing trash with forest rangers in Belgium.

•Food & Kitchen: Worked in a Colombian empanada restaurant handling kitchen prep and daily operations.

•Hostel & Hospitality: Helped out at as volunteer in hostels in Brussels, an Albanian beach hostel, and support (I was not a volunteer in this case I was a guest) only sometimes to a volunteer friend in a clothing-optional beach hostel in Zipolite Mexico, the popular nudist beach town full of culture and arts of Oaxaca.

•Farming & Ranching: Caretaking for a hacienda in Mérida and hands-on work at a social ranch of an philanthropist and social activist in northern Mexico (crops, flowers, and medicinal plants, learning traditional herbalism and meditation).

•Gardening: Redid a backyard for a household in Belgium.

•Data & AI Thesis: Worked with a marine conservation NGO on computer vision drone/AI sea turtle detection. Happy to apply tech solutions to other non-profit NGOs.

--What I’m Eager to Learn--
Exploring my spiritual and creative side (meditation, yoga, painting, drawing). Looking to learn about:

•Sustainable/natural building (adobe, eco-cabins)

•Farming, beekeeping, and self-sufficiency

•Green tech and natural medicine

•New languages and cuisines 🍽️

•Yoga, fitness, massages and salsa dancing

--My Dreams & Bucket List--
Curious and driven by shared experiences, my long-term project is building an eco-sustainable ranch for holistic living 🛖.

My bucket list includes: getting a PADI diving license, learning to surf and snowboard, cycling across Europe from Portugal, living on a boat, exploring the Amazon, visiting India, and experiencing festivals like Midsummer in Sweden, Oktoberfest, and Holi.
