Looking for a two-week Workaway either from mid-August or from late August into early September 2026 — ideally a practical, creative project with several people.

Descripción
Hi, I'm Adam, from Slovakia and based in London. I work as a product manager, which means most of my working week happens behind a screen. Workaway is my way of changing the rhythm for a while: doing something physical, spending more time outdoors and seeing what we built at the end of the day. My job gives me two weeks of volunteering leave, and I like to make those two weeks count.
My first Workaway was on a finca in Lanzarote. We were a small group of volunteers, organising ourselves with guidance from our host. I liked the simple rhythm, the trust and the mix of people. It showed me that I'm happiest when there is practical work to do and some freedom to take initiative.
More recently I was invited to join the core team behind Atmosféra Festival in Slovakia, an established three-day music and arts festival that has been running for more than a decade. I'm still part of the team and help organise it in my free time.
Before the festival, I joined the build and production work that turns the plans into the finished festival grounds. The overall setup was already designed and organised, but there were still plenty of practical details to solve while putting everything together. I helped build the viewing platform, prepare the showers and parking, carry water, assemble structures and sculptures, set up activities and drive site vehicles.
During the festival I was responsible for the NICKNACK reusable-cup washing operation. We set up two dishwashers in a changing-room building at a nearby sports ground and turned it into a small cleaning base. I had to work out the setup and flow, make sure the water and equipment were working, solve problems as they came up and keep the whole operation moving. I also coordinated around 20 volunteers and worked the shifts alongside them.
I loved the mix of physical work, practical problem-solving and being part of a team building something together. That's close to what I'm looking for now: several people, varied tasks, creative work and visible progress. Festival builds, community or eco projects, gardening, light construction, maintenance and creative DIY all sound good to me. I'm not a trained builder or farmer, but I'm practical, reliable and comfortable learning as I go.
Outside work I cycle, hike and spend as much time outdoors as I can. I enjoy social places, shared meals and a relaxed atmosphere, but I'm also independent and happy exploring on my own. -

Yes. I'm always happy to pick up some of the local language, and I can help with English, Slovak or Czech. I'm patient, but my lessons are more likely to happen over dinner or while working than with a textbook. -

Que habilidades tienes?
At Atmosféra Festival I worked on both the build and live operations. Before opening, I dug, assembled temporary structures, helped with sculptures and installations, set up activities and drove site vehicles. During the festival I ran the reusable-cup operation and led around 20 people: planning shifts, keeping the cleaning and distribution moving, solving problems and working alongside the team.
At my first Workaway, on a finca in Lanzarote, I helped with gardening and practical jobs around the property. We organised ourselves as a group with guidance from the host, so I'm comfortable noticing what needs doing and getting on with it.
In my day job I'm a product manager. It has made me good at organising people, turning vague problems into workable tasks, communicating clearly and staying calm when plans change.
I have a driving licence and I'm happy with physical work. I'm not a tradesperson and won't pretend to know something I don't, but I learn quickly and can help with basic gardening, light construction, maintenance, creative DIY, event setup and team coordination. -

Algo más...
Cycling and hiking are my favourite ways to explore a place. I enjoy living and working with other people, especially when everyone contributes and the atmosphere is relaxed and respectful. Shared meals and good conversations are a plus, but I don't need constant entertainment and I'm happy doing my own thing too.
I spent eight years in drama classes, which is probably why I enjoy creative projects and the slightly organised chaos of festivals. I'm a non-smoker and can usually volunteer for about two weeks through my job. -

The place is beautiful and having 2 dogs and 2 cats around made it feel like home. While Oier was pretty busy, he'd always invite us to hang out when he could and … read more
