We live in a small city near Cologne and try to engage in our community. For us community life, helping and looking after each other, building a community with our neighbors and nearby living people is very important. We try to live a sustainable life and have started growing our own vegetables, hoping to be able to expand our grading actives in the future. We have a little house and love to do the renovation work on our own. Our neighbors and family would describe us as open, cheerful and engaged. We would add, that we always have an open door for everyone.

We have a wide range of experiences together, from growing our own vegetables, renovating our house but as well cooking in a little restaurant in France.
Valeska started growing some of our vegetables a couple of years ago. In our little garden patch you can find beans, various cabbages and beets, onions, carrots, courgettes, chard and of course potatoes. She has as well some experience in working and cooking in a little plant based restaurant in the middle of France during a wwoofing stay. As she learned to be a tailor she sews a lot as well, repairs clothes but as well sews new curtains.
Uwe is more active in housebuilding and house maintenance activities. He does most things on his own. The last two big projects were the installation of 5.000 liter underground water tank for rainwater, which now fuels our toilet, washing machine and garden and he build a natural dry stone wall on the front of our house and garden. He has graduated in agriculture years back and worked on a farm during his university time. He knows the work on a farm with livestock by experience.

Uwe is working as an IT professional and is really good in IT-stuff. He loves road cycling and does a lot of wood work.
Valeska has a degree as a handycrafts teacher and loves all kind of creative handicrafts, from sewing, knitting, weaving and more. She loves cooking and started her first trials in sourdough bread baking.
