Dear Host,
This is going to be my fifth experience as a Workawayer/Au-pair and, as already experienced, connecting with new people and feeling helpful in some way makes me happy!!

MY PAST IN SHORT
I was born and grew up in Italy in a loving and supporting family and I have an older brother. We have always had dogs and now we have a border collie named Lilly. I studied languages in high-school and moved to Germany for my B.A. degree in translation and foreign languages. There, I learnt how to become fully independent and rely on my own abilities and strengths. In September 2020, I moved back to Italy to follow my dream of becoming an English or German teacher in public school. For the last 4 years I've been teaching English in a public vocational school. I think that I am able to connect with many students, to help them and I also try to make my lessons as engaging as possible, focusing on communication rather than on grammar.

PREVIOUS WORKAWAY AND AU-PAIR EXPERIENCE
When I was 19, I had my first workaway experience in a small village in England where I did house maintenance, cooked, cleaned and took a dog for walks for a lovely couple of elderly people. They were very satisfied with me.

The year after, I was an au-pair for a month and a half for a family living in an eco-fiendly way in the middle of a natural park in France. I looked after a 1,5 year-old toddler and a 6 year-old girl. I played with them, changed nappies, fed the toddler and organized activities for them. I perfectly got along with the family and the year after they asked me to come again but unfortunately I was on holiday with my father.

Later on, the same year, I was an au-pair for a month in France, this time in a small village in the Pre-Alps. I looked after a 6 year-old boy and a 12 year-old girl and involved them in artistic and outdoor activities. They were very satisfied with me and we got along perfectly.

Last August I baby-sat two boys for a month in Ireland, a 4 and a 6-year-old. It was challenging because they had completely different interests but I managed to create a happy playful environment for both. I loved staying with the family and they were so kind to let me truly experience Ireland and its culture.

PASSIONS
I love NATURE and ANIMALS. In Italy, we have a country house and since my early childhood I have spent most of the weekends there. We used to grow vegetables there but now we only have a vineyard, olive trees and my mother keeps bees. Having a house in the countryside is fantastic because there you can take a break from everything else and enjoy the contact with nature.

I love TRAVELLING and truly experience new places and the contact with other people. I am totally convinced that only experiences in foreign environments can make you really grow up. You have to come out of your comfort zone and get in touch with the unknown which may also question your certainties. But in the end, you will have a big wealth of experience and a much broader view of the world.

I love TEACHING as I think that this is one of the most costructive and engaging ways to spend time with other people, both for the teacher and the taught people. Learning is so important in the growing process of humans that being a part of it is a huge responsibility, a joy and a honor.

PERSONALITY
I would define myself as a really SENSITIVE and SOCIABLE person who loves sharing experiences, feeling part of a group and being considered as one.
I am also INDEPENDENT and self-sufficient which means that I have no problems living alone.
I am broad-mined and FLEXIBLE: new environments and new ways of thinking and living do not worry me, on the contrary, they interest me!
I am ALTRUIST and generous as I value other people's wellness a lot. I am also empathetic, a quality I inherited from my mother: we both immediately understand if someone feels down and we help them feel better.
I am RESPONSIBLE and rational and think about the consequences of my actions, which doesn't mean that I do not enjoy life and have fun ;)
I am really PATIENT and I think that I am good at teaching.
I am HONEST and I think that sincere communication is important in any kind of human relationship to create harmony, solve problems and avoid misunderstandings or unpleasant situations.
