Hii!
I'm Tom, and I'm currently traveling through Scandinavia in my blue mini-van! 🚙 I'm exited to meet lovely and interesting people while I'm here, so don't hesitate to shoot me a message if you'd like to meet up or go on an adventure together!

Some things about me:
I like to think that I’m quite adventurous, creative, sensitive and kind. Other people often describe me as hard-working, understanding, reliable, athletic and perfectionistic.

In general I'd say that I am quite introverted, but I like to be very open and laugh with people that I connect with.

Spending time in nature is my favourite thing to do, so it's also my biggest motivation for this journey. Some things I also love to do are: all kinds of sporty activities, (nature) photography, beekeeping, listening to music and enjoying good food.

I really enjoy practicing and learning about a large variety of skills, hobbies and interests, so definitely teach me everything you know if we ever meet.
I’ll do the same ;)

We are both rather enthusiastic about language and linguistics in general. Channelyn has a very international background and speaks multiple languages fluently and intermediate. She loves to connect with people from all over the world to keep up her language skills. Tom speaks Dutch and English fluently and has been learning quite a bit of Norwegian over the last few years. He really enjoys learning about dialects, derivations of words and proverbs and idioms. We are happy to share anything we know regarding languages and would love to learn more from you!

Que habilidades tienes?

In general, I can say that I’m quite a handy person and I’m a good didactic learner. I pick up on skills quite fast by observing others and practicing. In a work environment I am able to recognize where I can be helpful and I act accordingly on my own initiative.

- General tasks: cleaning around the house, cleaning windows, laundry and ironing, groceries, etc.

- Outdoor Skills: I’ve been working as a professional gardener for almost 4 years now and I can do most of the labor that you expect from a gardener. This includes (large) maintenance work, as well as constructing a garden from start to finish. I can do some basic woodworking and painting, and I would definitely like to improve my skills in this area.

- Education: I graduated my study of Spatial Planning and Development in February 2024, where I specialized in Landscape Design, ranging from private gardens, all the way up to strategic, regional visions and landscaping plans.

- Tools and machinery: I’m used to working with various types of tools and machinery, including kitchen machines, (electric) power tools and landscaping tools. I also have experience with equipment such as compactors, powered wheelbarrows, wood chippers and small loaders and excavators.

- Working with animals: Although I don’t live on a farm myself, it is a dream of mine to be a farmer myself one day and I would love to learn more about working with animals, crops and being self-sufficient.
I do have about 4 years of experience as a beekeeper with about 2 – 4 hives at a time. Needless to say, I would love to share my knowledge about beekeeping with you.

- Cooking: In my first job, I worked in a pancake restaurant for about 4 years, where I did a lot of cooking, serving, hosting and everything in between. Although I can do some basic cooking, I would love to extend my skills in the kitchen.

- Working with children: I get along well with children and I’ve been volunteering as a staff member for my local Scouts group for almost 6 years now. My group consists of ten to twenty girls between the ages of 7 - 11 years old and I organize all the activities and camps during the year. This is something which I still really like to do every single week :) I also did some babysitting in the past.

- Finally, I'm an enthusiastic nature photographer and I know my way around working with camera hardware and software such as Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator.

In my daily life, I constantly find myself seeking for balance between things, for example between thrill and quietness.
Therefore you can find me raving and diving off bridges on one day, and doing (nature) photography and beekeeping on the other :)

I feel like I'm finding it hard to find this balance in my current lifestyle, which has been my 'normal' for my entire life. Therefore I'm looking forward to experiencing different ways of life, and I would like to explore a more nomadic lifestyle.

I would love to meet likeminded people during my adventures, so don’t hesitate to send me a message :)
