Hello! My name is Sumit, a 37-year-old Biomedical Engineer from Northern India, near New Delhi. I consider myself a highly responsible, grounded, and trustable person who deeply values conscious living, nature connection, and transparent, meaningful cultural exchanges.

Professionally, I work on high-precision healthcare technology (radiotherapy equipment). While this technical career keeps my intellect sharp, my true fulfillment comes from stepping away from the screen to work with my own hands, be outdoors, and explore sustainable living practices. I am highly motivated to experience and contribute to a simple and concious way of life.

As a traveler, I find my balance in the space between quiet reflection and active community:

• Mindful & Nature-Centric: I thrive when surrounded by natural landscapes. My daily life is anchored by meditation, hiking, and long walks, which help me stay observant, calm, and fully present in everything I do.

• Analytical & Hands-On: My engineering background makes me a critical thinker who likes to understand how things work. Rather than rushing through tasks, I approach projects thoughtfully and intentionally. I have a deep appreciation for manual labor—whether that involves building, planting, repairing, or creating.

• Social yet Solitary: While I deeply value my silent time and space to recharge, I genuinely love meeting different people. I enjoy exchanging stories, learning from diverse cultures, and sharing meaningful conversations over a meal after a productive day's work.

I bring a unique blend of technical problem-solving, mindful presence, and practical manual skills to any project. Because I have previously participated in volunteering program in India, I deeply understand the host’s perspective and am highly motivated to be an exceptional, proactive helper.

• DIY, Electrical & Maintenance: Practical experience with home electrical setups, basic plumbing repairs, and carpentry. I am comfortable with tool handling, fixing fixtures, mending fences, and building small structures.

• Permaculture & Outdoor Labor: Active volunteering experience at a permaculture farm in India. I understand the patience, hard work and cordination required to nurture land, and I genuinely enjoy tasks like trail clearing, weeding, planting, and wood chopping.

• Problem Solving & Strategy: Strong critical thinking skills inherited from my engineering background. I am comfortable at organizing spaces, streamlining workflow logistics, and finding creative, logical solutions to operational challenges.

• Mindfulness & Space Creation: A calm, grounded energy perfect for maintaining quiet spaces, or meditation areas. I approach environments with respect, keeping them clean, organized, and serene.

• Reliable General Support: A deep commitment to helping as much as possible. I fully understand that cleaning and maintaining my accommodation is my responsibility, and I keep my living spaces clean. Whether it involves daily upkeep, deep cleaning, cooking shared meals, or house-sitting,, I take pride in being fully dependable.

While I am a new traveler to the Workaway community, I have previously volunteered several time in various permaculture and Meditation centers in India. Because of this, I deeply understand the host’s perspective, the importance of clear communication, and what it takes to be an exceptional, reliable guest.

I am looking to participate in a true cultural exchange. I am more than happy to offer 4–5 hours a day of solid, honest manual labor—whether that means turning compost, fixing structural issues around a house, weeding, or handling technical repairs—in exchange for a humble place to stay, local food, and shared stories.
